(NOTE: all of these stories come from comingsoon.net)

With just five months to go before the Guardians of the Galaxy are back on the big screen, Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios have just released a new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer. Check it out in the player below! The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 cast includes the return of Chris Pratt (Jurassic World, Parks and Recreation) as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana (Avatar, Star Trek) as Gamora, Dave Bautista (SPECTRE, The Man with the Iron Fists) as Drax, Vin Diesel (xXx, Furious 7) as the voice of Groot; Bradley Cooper (Joy, American Sniper) as the voice of Rocket; Michael Rooker (Slither, Jumper) as Yondu; Karen Gillan (Doctor Who, The Big Short) as Nebula; and Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, “Gilmore Girls”) as Kraglin. New cast members include Pom Klementieff (Oldboy), who plays Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, Everest), Chris Sullivan (“The Knick,” The Drop) and Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, Furious 7) as Ego, the Living Planet. Set to the backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is produced by Marvel Studios’ president, Kevin Feige, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Nik Korda and Stan Lee serving as executive producers. Look for it to hit the big screen May 5, 2017, the first of three Marvel Studios films arriving in 2017. Guardians 2 will be followed by Spider-Man: Homecoming on July 7 and Thor: Ragnarok on November 3.

This trailer is absolutely awesome. Guardians of the Galaxy was a massive hit and it created a new branch of the MCU we've never seen and it did a great job of refreashing the MCU and injecting some charisma into it. The sequel has been anticipated for a long time and this trailer just hieghtens the anticipation. Baby Groot is going to steal the show and he might be the best character ever seen in a comic book film. Even Dave Bautista as Drax was great in this trailer and the great thing about this is that it didn't show much of the story and it didn't give hardly anything away. This film is going to be amazing and it might be one of the highest grossing films of all-time.

It seems that an Oscars host has finally been found. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (via Variety) has picked late night host Jimmy Kimmel to host the 89th Oscars telecast. The Academy Awards will air live on the ABC Television Network, and broadcast worldwide, on Oscar Sunday, February 26, 2017. This will be Kimmel’s frist time hosting the Oscars, though he has hosted the Emmy Awards in both 2012 and 2016. His talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” is now in its 14th season and airs weekdays at 11:35pm/10:35c on ABC. Kimmel began his career as a radio comedian, and then became a household name as co-host of the Comedy Central programs Comedy Central’s “Win Ben Stein’s Money” and “The Man Show.” He has also played himself in several movies, as well as providing voices in animated films like Garfield, The Smurfs 2 and the upcoming The Boss Baby. Three-time Oscar-nominated producer Michael De Luca and Emmy-nominated producer Jennifer Todd will produce the 89th Oscars telecast. The 89th Oscars will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, and will be televised live on the ABC Television Network at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. The Oscars also will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.

I really love this choice. For the longest time I've been suggesting Jimmy Kimmel as the Oscars host, but I didn't know how it work out with his show that usually comes on right after the Oscars. Being the small minded guy that I am, both his show and The Oscars are on ABC and after the Oscars are over he can have his show on the stage so that it works out. Kimmell has done a magnificent job hosting award shows in the past and I think he is a great fit. Now we said the same thing about Neil Patrick Harris after he hosted the Tony's 4 years in a row and his Oscars was a disaster, but I have faith in Kimmel. I'm just excited to see his pretend fued with Matt Damon carry on with a lot of great jokes and I think he'll knock it out of the park.

Following the poster and trailer tease on Thursday, Universal Pictures has now debuted the full first The Mummy trailer, which you can watch below. Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy. Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her, is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension. From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters. Cruise is joined by a cast including Annabelle Wallis (upcoming King Arthur, television’s Peaky Blinders), Jake Johnson (Jurassic World), Courtney B. Vance (TV’s American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson) and Oscar winner Russell Crowe (Gladiator). Coming to theaters on June 9, 2017, The Mummy is directed by Alex Kurtzman, who also produces alongside Chris Morgan (Fast & Furious series, Wanted) and Sean Daniel (The Mummy trilogy, The Best Man series). Jon Spaihts and Christopher McQuarrie wrote the screenplay, and Bobby Cohen executive produces. It’s being planned as the first film in the Universal Monster cinematic universe with plans for The Wolfman, The Invisible Man, Bride of Frankenstein, and Van Helsing all in various stages of development.

This was a really nice trailer. The original live-action Mummy films of the 2000's were really good films with some pretty simple plots but they worked because they didn't take themselves too seriously I like this take so far because it dives more into the supernatural and to be honest Sofia Boutella looks pretty amazing as The Mummy. The action scenes are soemthing you know are going to be great simply because of Tom Cruise and I'm willing to bet he probably did some insane stunts for this film. I think it is very unique and we'll see how it plays out.

Paramount Pictures has debuted the Transformers: The Last Knight trailer, which you can watch below! Transformers: The Last Knight is confirmed to include the return of Transformers: Age of Extinction star Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager, Josh Duhamel as Lieutenant Colonel Lennox, Tyrese Gibson as Robert Epps, Stanley Tucci as Joshua Joyce, as well as a new role for Isabela Moner (100 Things to Do Before High School, Growing Up Fisher) as the film’s female lead, Izabella. Jerrod Carmichael, Laura Haddock and Santiago Cabrera also have roles, as does Liam Carrigan (Once Upon a Time), who plays King Arthur. A few of the titular robots in disguise have also been confirmed to return, including Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Drift, Hound, Crosshairs, Hot Rod, and Sqweeks for the Autobots, with Megatron, Barricade, and Onslaught for the Decepticons. Michael Bay returns to the director’s chair for the film, which is written by Iron Man scribes Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down). Ian Bryce, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto are producing the sequel. Transformers: The Last Knight will open in theaters on June 23, 2017.

I gotta say that Michael Bay did it again. The trailers for every Transformers film has been unbelievabley awesome and every single time I've been suckered in to seeing every film because I'm holding out hope that this might be the one that changes the franchise for the good and it fails. This traile might not be the best one out of the bunch, but the ending really had me intrigued and the fact that Optimus Prime is turning evil is a bold move and I'm curious as to where they will go with this angle. Thankfully this is the last Transformers film from Michael Bay, but hopefully he can go out with a bang.

You may recall that in Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman movie, none other than Billy Dee Williams took on the role of district attorney Harvey Dent, with Williams famously being told he’d play the villain Two-Face in a sequel. As we all know, that never happened and instead Tommy Lee Jones played the villain in Batman Forever instead. Now, however, Williams will finally get to play the villain as The LEGO Batman Movie director Chris McKay revealed Williams will voice the villain in the upcoming feature. Will Arnett reprises his role from The LEGO Movie as the voice of the titular Dark Knight, alongside Michael Cera as Robin the boy wonder, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth, Mariah Carey as Gotham’s mayor, and Zach Galifianakis as The Joker. A number of other villains are set to appear in the film including high profile ones like Bane and Harley Quinn but mostly lower-tier villains such as The Eraser, King Tut, March Harriet, Orca, and Zodiac Master. In the irreverent spirit of fun that made The LEGO Movie a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure: The LEGO Batman Movie. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up. Chris McKay is directing The LEGO Batman Movie from a script by Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter creator Seth Grahame-Smith. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed The LEGO Movie, are producing the film along with Dan Lin. The LEGO Batman Movie will open in theaters on February 10, 2017.

I don't typically gush over animation casting simply because they are just voice but when one is a perfect choice I do get excited and this is one of them. Billy Dee Williams never got his chance to be Two-Face after Batman Returns because of 1. Tim Burton left the franchise and 2. The studio wanted to go with someone who at the time was a big star in Tommy Lee Jones so we only got to see Williams as Harvey Dent. Now while we will never see a live-action version, knowing that Williams is voice the character in this film really just makes everything come full circle and I really cannot wait to hear him as the character when this film comes out and that's not that far off from now and I'm excited as can be for the film.

First announced for the big screen in 2014, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Mattel and Parkes+MacDonald/Image Nation’s upcoming live-action Barbie movie has finally landed a leading lady in Amy Schumer (Trainwreck, Inside Amy Schumer). According to The Hollywood Reporter, Schumer will play a misfit living in a land of perfect Barbies who comes to the real world where her being/looking different turns into an asset. The film is said by the trade to be, “a contemporary spin on beauty, feminism and identity” in the comedic-fantasy vein of Splash, Enchanted or Big. Although Diablo Cody (Juno, Young Adult) was previously attached to write the film, the current screenplay comes from Hilary Winston (The LEGO Ninjago Movie, the Bad Teacher TV series). Schumer and her sister Kim Caramele are expected to rewrite the script, and a director is currently being sought. From princess to president, mermaid to movie star, Barbie has done it all through her more than 150 careers, she has gained valuable experiences and shown her fans that anything is possible for a modern woman. The toy line launched in 1959, and brings in $2 billion dollars annually. The comedic and contemporary film marks the second collaboration between Sony Pictures and Mattel, which are currently developing a film adaptation of Masters of the Universe, based on Mattel’s popular action figures. Barbie is being produced by Walter F. Parkes, Laurie MacDonald and Amy Pascal.

I actually love this casting. Now if you know me real well, then you'll know that hate Amy Schumer as a comedian, person and actress for a lot of reasons that I'd rather not get into. she was pretty decnet in her own written film in Trainwreck, but this is a whole new ball game for her. I think she fits Barbie well and it'll be interesting on which direction they take the character in because that can change the whole landscape of the film. Hopefully Schumer can do something good for once and pull this film off.
