My Review of Keanu

So I recently watched Keanu and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado............

Recently dumped by his girlfriend, slacker Rell (played by Jordan Peele) finds some happiness when a cute kitten winds up on his doorstep. After a heartless thief steals the cat, Rell recruits his cousin Clarence (played by Keegan-Michael Key) to help him retrieve it. They soon learn that a thug named Cheddar (played by Method Man) has the animal, and he'll only give it back if the two men agree to work for him. Armed with guns and a gangster attitude, it doesn't take long for the hapless duo to land in big trouble.

This was a pretty funny film. Key and Peele are the funniest comedic duo on the planet and anytime they are together, you can expect a lot of laughs. You have that throughout the entire film and every joke works and they are perfectly timed to fit with the story and it also helps develops the characters. The story is a little shaky at best, but mostly you go into this film hoping that Key & Peele's style translated to the big screen and it does very well. With this film doing you so well you can expect to see these two in a lot of films down the line. One concern going into the film is that you worry that it's just going to be a film based around finding a kitten, but the film just feels like a big skit and luckily it doesn't which really just makes the film that much stronger. Eventhough the film is titled Keanu, he is rarely in the film and the film might've needed another title if that is the case. Also there were a few times where the focus of the film wasn't really that clear and and it seemed that the action in the film (which was superb as well) often overshadowed the comedy and the performances. Overall this was a great first film for both of these two together and hopefully they continue to make more and more films together. I give Keanu an 8 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Keanu, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
