My Review of Moana

So I recently watched Moana and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado.............

Moana Teaser Poster.jpg

An adventurous teenager sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voiced by Auli'i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master way-finder. Together they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds. Along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she always sought: her own identity.

This film is a really fun and adventurous time at the movies. Disney is used to putting out both decent material Must to make a few dollars and they are also used to  putting out films that become instant classics and this is one of those films. Moana takes us to a different part of the world that we aren't used to seeing in regular Disney films and it even explores the Pacific Islander culture and it really gives you quite an extensive background knowledge of it in such a short time. As always with a animated Disney film you have to talk about the animation and in this film it might be the best work they've done. Everything just seems so realistic and it feels like you on an island or in the ocean with these characters and you would almost think this film was a live action film instead. The voice performances are great especially with someone as charismatic as Dwayne Johnson who is just perfect for this role and he just brings so much energy to the film. as well as his co-star in her film debut Auli'i Cravalho as the title character and expect her do some big things down the line. Another expectation in Disney films is the music and the music in this film is pretty catchy and it makes you feel like you're in this world. The main problem with the film is the themes it tackles throughout. Now the themes in the film are very important and they tackle them in good ways, but at times it feels like they do into detail with them to learn help kids understand them which leads to another problem. While the film is targeted at kids, the humor in the film feels childish and doesn't really have much for any adults to really sink their teeth into. Overall this is a bright and fun  film that has everything you'd expect in a Disney film although it doesn't take itself too seriously in serious moments. I give Moana an 8.5 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Moana, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
