My Review of Proud Mary

So I recently watched Proud Mary and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado....

Mary (played by Taraji P. Henson) is a hit woman working for an organized crime family in Boston, whose life is completely turned around when she meets a young boy whose path she crosses when a professional hit goes bad.

This is just an absolutely terrible film. Look the fact that we are finally getting to see more and more female led action films is pretty awesome and you hope to get a lot of good publicity to help push the movement forward and this film just doesn't do that on any level. Taraji P. Henson is a phenomenal actress and seeing her in this type of role is a great change of pace for her and she's really the only good part of the film as she tries so hard to make this film halfway decent. The action in the film is all over the place and it does go through a lot of repetitive motions that we're used to seeing. Speaking of all over the place, the camerawork is absolutely dreadful in this film and the camera just moves all over the place to the point where yo almost can't tell what in the world is going on. Also the dialogue in the film is just miserable to hear and it honestly makes me wonder if the filmmakers had any idea how actual people talk in real life instead of the absolute nonsense put on the screen in this film. Overall this is a poor attempt to make a female led action film, takes a great opportunity and blows it and it also wastes one of the best actresses working today. I give Proud Mary a 2 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Proud Mary, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
