My Review of Zoolander No. 2

So I recently watched Zoolander No. 2 and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

Former models Derek Zoolander (played by Ben Stiller) and Hansel (played by Owen Wilson) find themselves thrust back into the spotlight after living in seclusion for years. Invited to a major fashion event in Rome, the estranged friends are surprised to see how much the business has changed. Even more shocking is their encounter with Valentina Valencia (played by Penelope Cruz), a special agent who needs their help. Someone is killing famous pop stars, and it's up to Derek and Hansel to help save the world's most beautiful people from a similar fate.

This film was such a disappointing film and one of the harder films to watch. The first Zoolander film was a special kind of stupid as it knew what it was making fun of and it hit the nail on the head with all of the jokes. In this film they try to do the same thing and it just doesn't work. The only difference between both films is that there are more cameos in this film than the other one. None of the jokes are remotely funny and a lot of them are rehashed from the first film. Both Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson look lost when they are on screen and when they are on screen together they just don't have the same chemistry that they had in the first film. The best part of the film by far was Will Ferrell who has some really good gut-busting jokes, but that's all the film has to offer. The film tries to make fun of the more modern technology and how it has changed the fashion scene, but it's just a complete bash of how social media has ruined the world and while that may be true, it does have some benefits, but those are never mentioned in the film. Penelope Cruz was a nice addition to the cast, but when you see her on screen you can just tell that she just wasn't into the film and basically did the film for a paycheck. The story is really stupid as well and nothing about the film is cohesive and there are a few minor subplots within the film, but they feel forced and out of place. Overall this film is a bitter disappointment mainly due to how good the first film was. I give Zoolander No. 2 a 0.5 out of 10.
