My Review of Pan

So I recently watched Pan and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

The story of an orphan (played by Levi Miller) who is spirited away to the magical Neverland. There, he finds both fun and dangers, and ultimately discovers his destiny -- to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan.

This is a pretty disappointing film. One the reasons why so many people were looking forward to this film (myself included) was because it was interesting concept that had never been done before and to see how Peter Pan got Neverland raised a lot of eyebrows and made the film at least worth watching. To pull this film off you have to execute every aspect of the story and build towards possible sequels and the film doesn't do that. The blame for that goes solely on the shoulders of director Joe Wright. The film is all over the place and it has a mix in tones which includes part children's movie, part drama and part adventure fantasy and those only go together if you have the right story and director and you just don't. It doesn't know who it wants to target and you're just asking for trouble when there will be some parts for only children to enjoy and some parts only adults can enjoy and there isn't enough for both parties to enjoy together. Hugh Jackman is one of the only bright spots in the film as he does the best he can with what he was given and he pulls off the character of Blackbeard really well. Garett Hedlund is absolutely atrocious in the film and his version of Captain Hook is annoying and dreadful. Levi Miller also gave a decent performance for his first major role and I'm really looking forward to seeing where his career goes from here. Overall this is a film that had a lot of potential, but the bad mixture in tones and the poor execution of the film just make for a bad film. I give Pan a 3 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Pan, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
