My Review of 99 Homes

So I recently watched 99 Homes and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado......

Set amidst the backdrop of the 2008 housing market catastrophe, Dennis Nash (played by Andrew Garfield), a hard-working and honest man, can't save his family home despite his best efforts. Thrown to the streets with alarming precision by real estate shark Mike Carver (played by Michael Shannon), Dennis, out of work and luck, is given a unique opportunity - to join Carver's crew and put others through the harrowing ordeal done to him in order to earn back what's his.

This was a decent movie. In the film you have two of the most talented actors in the business today and they work so well together. Michael Shannon is somewhat playing the same terrible person he does in a lot of other films and in way that's both good and bad. Andrew Garfield also plays the same character he does in other films. While they do play the same old characters they do give outstanding performances that if this was any other year would get at least a little bit of Oscar consideration. The film plays out like a lot of other movies and to be honest it pretty much steals the plot to 1987's Wall Street without the insider trading scandal of course. It does have both high and lot moments and it tends to drag on for too long and it becomes more and more predictable as it gets dragged along. Overall it's one of those films you have to see just because of how the performances are from Shannon and Garfield, but other than that there isn't much to it. I give 99 Homes a 6 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of 99 Homes, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
