Hello ladies and gentlemen, here is some movie news with some of my thoughts and opinions (which will be in BOLD print). So without further ado...

Walt Disney Studios today revealed the new trailer for their highly-anticipated live-action Cinderella, directed by Academy Award-nominee Kenneth Branagh and starring Academy Award-winner Cate Blanchett as the Stepmother and Lily James in the timeless title role and you can check it out in the player below. The story of Cinderella follows the fortunes of young Ella whose merchant father remarries following the tragic death of her mother. Keen to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother Lady Tremaine and her daughters Anastasia and Drisella into the family home. But, when Ella’s father suddenly and unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family. Finally relegated to nothing more than a servant girl covered in ashes, and spitefully renamed Cinderella, Ella could easily begin to lose hope. Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella is determined to honor her mother’s dying words and to “have courage and be kind.” She will not give in to despair nor despise those who abuse her. And then there is the dashing stranger she meets in the woods. Unaware that he is really a prince, not merely an employee at the Palace, Ella finally feels she has met a kindred soul. It appears as if her fortunes may be about to change when the Palace sends out an open invitation for all maidens to attend a ball, raising Ella’s hopes of once again encountering the charming “Kit.” Alas, her stepmother forbids her to attend and callously rips apart her dress. But, as in all good fairy tales, help is at hand as a kindly beggar woman steps forward and, armed with a pumpkin and a few mice, changes Cinderella’s life forever. Richard Madden, Stellan Skarsgård, Holliday Grainger, Derek Jacobi and Helena Bonham Carter co-star.
This was a really awkward trailer. It just made no sense and it looks like the story of Cinderella has been butchered. Look I love Kenneth Branagh as a director and he is very good at doing films with Victorian pieces involved, but this just looks like it will be an absolute failure. Hopefully I'm wrong because I want this film to be good because of the actors and the director involved with the film.
20th Century Fox has brought online the first trailer for their upcoming video game adaptation, Hitman: Agent 47 and you can check it out in the player below. Directed by first time helmer Aleksander Bach, the new film stars Rupert Friend (“Homeland,” The Young Victoria), Zachary Quinto (Star Trek, Margin Call), Hannah Ware (“Betrayal,” “Boss”), Thomas Kretschmann (“Dracula,” Avengers: Age of Ultron), Dan Bakkedahl (The Heat, Observe and Report) and Ciaran Hinds (Frozen, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby). Based on the top-selling, award-winning videogame franchise, Hitman: Agent 47 is an all-new motion picture about an elite and genetically engineered assassin, known only by the last two digits 47 of a barcode tattooed on the back of his neck. His latest target is a young woman on the run from powerful and clandestine forces. The mission brings startling revelations about the lethal agent and his prey, hurtling them on a collision course with their pasts. And this time, his number may be up. The Square Enix title (previously from Eidos Interactive) was turned into the 2007 movie Hitman with Timothy Olyphant in the lead. The Xavier Gens-directed action thriller earned just under $100 million at worldwide theaters. Scripted by Skip Woods, Kyle Ward and Michael Finch, Hitman: Agent 47 hits theaters on August 28, 2015.
This was a pretty great trailer. I'm a huge fan of the video game franchise and this is a franchise that has a lot of potential. Now granted the first Hitman film didn't not do well whatsoever and this film has to do good or you can forget seeing this character on the big screen ever again. Plus if it does good video game movies can finally start to make their way into cinema and be respectable properties. I love the cast and I'm really looking forward to the film.
Universal Pictures is giving us our first look inside Amy Schumer’s new starring vehicle Trainwreck, directed by comedy kingpin Judd Apatow (This is 40, Knocked Up) and co-starring Bill Hader (Men in Black 3, Superbad) and check out the Red Band trailer below. Schumer also wrote the script, which is inspired from some of her real-life experiences as she plays a commitment-averse woman trying to get past her self-sabotaging ways. Trainwreck co-stars Brie Larson, Tilda Swinton, Colin Quinn, Barkhad Abdi, Mike Birbiglia, Jon Glaser, Vanessa Bayer, John Cena, Ezra Miller, LeBron James, Method Man, Norman Lloyd, Jim Norton, Daniel Radcliffe and Marisa Tomei. The comedy will open in theaters on July 17.
This was not a great trailer whatsoever. Look I'm a huge fan of Judd Apatow, but his career is going down the tube. I'm not a fan of Amy Schumer and she isn't funny and her writing the film makes it even worse. I hope the film isn't as bad as I think it will be, but I wouldn't be surprised if I'm 100% right.
Given all of the other superhero movies coming out in the next few years, it’s easy to forget that a live-action version of Shazam is on the way and that Dwayne Johnson will be playing the antagonist Black Adam. Speaking with Total Film (via Games Radar), Johnson opened up about what he hopes to achieve with the character in the film. “I think Black Adam is going to grow into becoming an anti-hero,” Johnson said. “It’s all written within the spirit of respecting and paying homage to the comics. As we know, Black Adam started out as a slave. When he’s given the powers, he utilised them. Then in the wake of his powers, tragedy strikes, which turns his sentiment and tone in terms of psychology.” And as if there was any doubt, Johnson confirmed that the Shazam feature will be tied into the larger DC Cinematic Universe, and that we may see him go up against Henry Cavill’s Superman and Ben Affleck’s Batman. “It was all agreed that the worlds are all interconnected… One day you will see Black Adam go at it with Superman or Batman or any of the DC characters. But that said, there’s a great independence to Black Adam from the DC world, allowing us to inject, not only viciousness, but also winking humour.” Jack the Giant Slayer scribe Darren Lemke is currently penning the script for Shazam, which is set to be released April 5, 2019, just a month before Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War Part II. The film tells the story of teenager Billy Batson, who transforms into the superhero when he says the magic word “Shazam!”
These are some really great comments. First off we finally get confirmation that Shazam will be apart of the DCCU after it was rumored that it would be produced by New Line (one of the production companies Warner Bros. owns). It's great ot hear that we could potentially see Ben Affleck go head-to-head with The Rock and that just gets me really excited . The Rock is one of the biggest stars on the planet and he is perfect for the role and I hope that we can see on the big-screen earlier than 2019.
In the fine tradition of The Squeakquel and Chipwrecked, Fox 2000 has revealed a puntastic subtitle for the fourth big screen Alvin and the Chipmunks adventure. Get ready for Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip to drive into theaters late next year. Variety confirms the long-rumored title in a story today that also reports that “Veep” star Tony Hale will play the film’s villain. The casting makes a nice fit for the franchise as the villain in the previous film, Chipwrecked, was played by Hale’s “Arrested Development” co-star David Cross. Scripted by Mrs. Doubtfire screenwriter Randi Mayem Singer and set to be directed by Walt Becker, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip will also star Jason Lee (Mallrats, “My Name is Earl”) as Dave Seville and will again feature the voices of Justin Long (Tusk, Drag Me To Hell), Matthew Gray Gubler (“Criminal Minds,” (500) Days of Summer) and Jesse McCartney (“Army Wives,” “Young Justice”) as the headlining chipmunks, Alvin, Simon and Theodore. Combined, the three previous movies, which started with 2007’s Alvin and the Chipmunks, have grossed over $560 million domestically and $1.1 billion worldwide, although the last movie grossed $100 million less in North America than the previous two movies. All the previous movies have received a similar pre-Christmas release. Nothing is known about the plot for the new movie although it will once again feature the three singing chipmunks, Alvin, Simon and Theodore, created by Ross Bagdasarian, Sr. back in 1958. Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip hits theaters on December 16, 2016.
This is a really corny title, but it fits. I mean these films haven't been the greatest in the world, but they have made a lot of money (the franchise has made over $1 billion at the worldwide box office). I honestly just wish they would stop making these films because they are an abomination to the music and the cartoon specials and I just wish they would stop making these films.
