My Review of Anthropoid

So I recently watched Anthropoid and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado....

Anthropoid (film).png

In December 1941, two Czech soldiers (played by Jamie Dornan, Cillian Murphy) parachute into their occupied homeland to assassinate Nazi officer Reinhard Heydrich (played by Detlef Bothe).

This is a very interesting yet weird film. It's interesting in the sense that the story it is telling is relatively unknown unless you're a major history buff and it brings it to life for average people to see and learn about the events. However that hurts it because it comes off as a history lesson and movies aren't supposed to teach you and this film probably would've served better on say the History channel. It's weird in the sense that it just has a lot of things going on in the film and there are a lot of subplots that are questionable and make you wonder why they are important to the main plot of the film. Both Cillian Murphy and Jamie Dornan are phenomenal in their leading roles and they do have pretty tremendous chemistry when on screen together. It's also really intense and it has quite a few action scenes that can keep you interested for the most part, but the overall narrative just gets lost in the shuffle and there's just no clear direction for the film to go in. Overall this is a film with a really important story to tell, it just doesn't do a great job of telling it the right way. I give Anthropoid a 4 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Anthropoid, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
