So I recently watched London Has Fallen and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...
After the death of the British prime minister, the world's most powerful leaders gather in London to pay their respects. Without warning, terrorists unleash a devastating attack that leaves the city in chaos and ruins. Secret Service agent Mike Banning (played by Gerard Butler) springs into action to bring U.S. President Benjamin Asher (played by Aaron Eckhart) to safety. When Asher falls into the hands of the sinister organization, it's up to Banning to save his commander in chief from a horrible fate.
This is a really terrible movie. Olympus Has Fallen was a film that had to compete against a basic carbon copy in White House Down and Olympus Has Fallen won the battle eaisly mainly due to Antoine Fuqua's direction. His style worked so well that you were able to look over a lot of the story and acting flaws. However Fuqua didn't direct this film and it's painfully obvious. Those duties went to Babak Najafi and you can tell he had a hard time directing a film like this. The film just has no substance to it and it almost feels like it was trying to pull off a Fast & Furious style movie where there were a lot of big action set pieces that just don't fit and are only there to keep you from falling asleep. The performances are just really dull and it looks as if both Butler and Eckhart just did not want to be in the film. Also Angela Bassett is in the film and her character is basically a waste and she is just there to be there. Another huge waste when having good talent is Jackie Earle Haley who was hyped up to be this really awesome character and some people thought he might be the main villain and instead he's reduced to a minor side role. There were a few good action and fight scenes and some good dialogue, but the story itself just seemed flat and unbearable. Overall this film is a film that is very forgettable and it really missed having Antoine Fuqua behind the camera. I give London Has Fallen a 2 out of 10.
So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of London Has Fallen, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
