My Review of She's Funny That Way

So I recently watched She's Funny That Way and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

The film centers on a call girl/escort-turned-Broadway-thespian Isabella/Izzy/Glow (played by Imogen Poots) and follows the “recurring intersection between these two facets of her life”. A Broadway director Arnold alias Derek (played by Owen Wilson) pays for her (and did for others) escort services despite being married to the star Delta Simmons (played by Kathryn Hahn) of his new play A Grecian Evening. The playwrighter Josh (played by Will Forte) falls for her as well, despite the fact that he’s already dating her therapist Jane Claremont (played by Jennifer Aniston), whose alcoholic mother and psychotherapist (played by Joanna Lumley) is in rehab in Tuscany for six months, leaving all her patients to her daughter. Actor Seth Gilbert (played by Rhys Ifans) the counterpart to Delta Simmons in the play is in love with her for years.

This was a pretty decent film to watch. The film has one of the best ensemble casts I've seen in a film and the characters each have their own moments to shine and standout throughout the film. Out of this ensemble I would say the one standout is Imogene Poots who is very underrated and she's proves she can really act and has a bright future ahead of her. The films plot relies on a lot of callbacks to other comedies and that is great in one aspect because the film knows what it is and it's bad because it doesn't come up with anything new or original. The film does have a lot of great laugh, but there are a few clunkers in there as well. The plot of the film is really messy and at times I didn't know what was going on and it made it hard to follow. Overall this is nice film some pretty great performances, the film overall is just a complete mess.  I give She's Funny That Way a 4 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of She's Funny That Way, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
