So I recently watched American Ultra and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...
Mike (played by Jesse Eisenberg), a seemingly hapless and unmotivated stoner whose small-town life with his live-in girlfriend, Phoebe (played by Kristen Stewart), is suddenly turned upside down. Unbeknownst to him, Mike is actually a highly trained, lethal sleeper agent. In the blink of an eye, as his secret past comes back to haunt him, Mike is thrust into the middle of a deadly government operation and is forced to summon his inner action-hero in order to survive.
This was a pretty decent film. The film is a mixed bag of tricks in the sense that there was a lot of action mixed with some really great comedy. Max Landis (who wrote the film) did a nice job of blending both of those two genres, wrote some great dialogue and developed the characters enough throughout the film. Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart are really good in the film and they have terrific chemistry together. One of the things that brought the film down was Topher Grace and he was just absolutely terrible in the film he needs to just quit being himself in films and transform himself into something bigger and better. The film does have some some over-the-top actions that can take you out the film real easy. Overall this is a really funny film and it blends in well with the action, but it does get a little wild and wacky. I give American Ultra a 7 out of 10.
So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of American Ultra, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
