Hello ladies and gentlemen, here is some movie news with some of my thoughts and opinions (which will be in BOLD print). So without further ado...

Though Patrick Stewart recently confirmed that he will be “making more than an appearance” in the upcoming Wolverine 3, there is still very little known about the project. Speaking on the Sydney Confidential podcast (via CBM), Jackman opened up about the film with a nice tease for what to expect and something that fans have been demanding to see. “There were a lot of calls for Victor Creed to come back, there was… I must admit I was quite heartened by a number of people saying please don’t make it the last, but I’m really excited about this last one, and if you’re a comic book fan, then the words ‘berserker rage’ came up a lot, so if you know Wolverine, you’ll understand.” Victor Creed, AKA Sabretooth, was previously played by Tyler Mane in the original X-Men, and Liev Schreiber in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, with no other appearances in the other films in the franchise. Perhaps the closest fans have ever come to seeing Logan’s berserker rage on film was in the 2009 solo feature, after his skeleton is fused with Adamantium and he escapes the Weapon X facility. Since Jackman has already confirmed countless times that this will be his last turn at bat as Wolverine, the actor seems eager to give fans everything they’ve wanted from everyone’s favorite Canadian mutant. To be directed by James Mangold (who, in addition to helming The Wolverine, worked with Jackman on Kate & Leopold), the new film is penned by David James Kelly. It will arrive in theaters on March 3, 2017, following the 2016 X-Men universe films Deadpool, X-Men: Apocalypse and Gambit, arriving February 15, May 27 and October 7, respectively.
These are really great comments. Hugh Jackman didn't flat out say it, but he pretty much confirmed that Victor Creed AKA Sabertooth will be appearing and it makes a lot of sense. Sabertooth is a very important character in the mythos of Wolverine and since this is the last film and Fox is now in the business of bringing back characters that they screwed up on in X-Men Origins: Wolverine then it makes sense for him to come back. Now the big question is who they will bring back for the role either Tyler Mane or Liev Schreiber. I would personally think that Liev Schreiber is the obvious choice simply because he is the better actor of the two and he is the most recent actor to play the character. They could bring someone else back, but I personally don't think they will.
20th Century Fox has debuted the Victor Frankenstein trailer, which you can watch below. The trailer is introduced by stars James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe. You can also check out the new poster in the gallery underneath. James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe star in a dynamic and thrilling twist on a legendary tale. Radical scientist Victor Frankenstein (McAvoy) and his equally brilliant protégé Igor Strausman (Radcliffe) share a noble vision of aiding humanity through their groundbreaking research into immortality. But Victor’s experiments go too far, and his obsession has horrifying consequences. Only Igor can bring his friend back from the brink of madness and save him from his monstrous creation. Directed by Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin) and adapted by Max Landis (Chronicle), Victor Frankenstein co-stars Jessica Brown Findlay, Andrew Scott, Mark Gatiss and Freddie Fox, and will be released on November 25. The film is produced by John Davis.
I'm pretty indifferent about this trailer. I say that becasue I honestly don't know what type of film this will be because it gave off a sense that it will mostly be comedy, but then it flipped a switch to where it seems like it will be a horror film. Once I see the film and find out the tone, then I'll be able to figure it out. I really do like the way they are making their own version of this story and this could be the best adaptation yet. I'm excited to see Daniel Radcliffe in the role of Igor since it doesn't appear as if it will be the same Igor we are used to and I'm excited for James McAvoy in the role of Victor Frankenstein. I've been looking forward to the film for awhile and I can't wait to see the final product in November.
StudioCanal has unveiled the UK trailer for the romantic period drama Carol, from the author of “The Talented Mr. Ripley” and acclaimed director Todd Haynes (Far From Heaven, I’m Not There, “Mildred Pierce”). Check out the Carol trailer, featuring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, below. Carol is an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s 1952 novella “The Price of Salt,” which tells the story of a lesbian romance in the ’50s written by Highsmith under the pseudonym Claire Morgan. The rather unprecedented homosexual love story–for the time in which it was written–follows the relationship between two very different women in 1950s New York, a 20-year-old girl working at a department store named Therese (Mara) and a rich wife named Carol (Blanchett) trapped in a bad marriage trying to break free. The film co-stars Sarah Paulson (“American Horror Story”), Kyle Chandler (Super 8), Jake Lacy (Obvious Child), Cory Michael Smith (“Gotham”), John Magaro (“Orange is the New Black”) and Carrie Brownstein (“Portlandia”). Already considered a shoe-in for awards consideration this fall, The Weinstein Company will open Carol in the U.S. in limited release on November 20.

I really enjoyed this trailer. It didn't give much away, but it did give you enough for you to sink your teeth into and to get a better understanding of what is going on. The film has been already getting a lot of attention this year and it will be a heavy hitter come Oscar season. Rooney Mara can Cate Blanchett are two terrific actresses and putting them in a film together is just a fantastic idea and I can't wait to see how it turns out.
Director Clint Eastwood’s still-untitled upcoming biopic of Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger is set to reunite the helmer with star Laura Linney. Linney previous starred in Eastwood’s Absolute Power and Mystic River and, per Deadline, will now play Captain Sully’s wife, Lorrie Sullenberger, opposite leading man Tom Hanks. Linney’s involvement with the project comes just one week after reports that The Dark Knight and Battle: Los Angeles‘ Aaron Eckhart will play Jeff Skiles, first officer and co-pilot to Hanks’ Captain Sully during the 2009 incident famously known as the Miracle on the Hudson. The film will be based on Sullenberger’s own 2009 autobiography, Highest Duty. Written with Jeffrey Zaslow, the book is described on Sullenberger’s official site as follows: On January 15, 2009, the world witnessed a remarkable emergency landing when Captain “Sully” Sullenberger skillfully glided US Airways Flight 1549 onto the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 aboard. His cool actions not only averted tragedy but made him a hero and an inspiration worldwide. Highest Duty is Sully’s story—a story of dedication, hope, and preparedness, revealing the important lessons he learned through childhood, in his military service, and in his work as a commercial airline pilot. It reminds us all that, even in these days of war, tragedy, and economic uncertainty, there are values still worth fighting for—that life’s challenges can be met if we’re ready for them. “I am very glad my story is in the hands of gifted storyteller and filmmaker Clint Eastwood, and veteran producers Allyn Stewart and Frank Marshall,” said Sullenberger of the feature film earlier this year. “The project could not have found a better home than Warner Bros. Pictures. This is truly a dream team.” Laura Linney recently starred opposite Ian McKellen in director Bill Condon’s Mr. Holmes. Eastwood will also produce the film through his Malpaso Productions alongside Frank Marshall of Kennedy/Marshall and Allyn Stewart of Flashlight Films.
This is pretty great casting. Laura Linney is a tremendous actress and she is just about perfect in every film she is in and she is a perfect fit for this film. It also isn't surprising she is in a Clint Eastwood film since she was in Mystic River (also directed by Eastwood) and that film is in my top 3 favorite films of all-time. This film was already sounding really fantastic and the addition of Linney just builds upon my excitement and I cannot wait to see it.
While actress Ali Larter’s fan-fav character Claire Redfield has been confirmed to return in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, the actress has double confirmed the truthiness of the title to IGN, explaining that the sixth film in the post-apocalyptic cycle is indeed the last. “I know it is,” said Larter of the finality of “The Final Chapter.” “We are not allowed to say one thing. I am held to secrecy, but what I can tell you is that the script is amazing. They’re really wrapping up the whole series, so that just makes it a little more poignant. To be able to come back and reprise my role as Claire and my relationship with Alice, with Umbrella Corp. — you know, I’m excited to get back in it. I think the fans are just going to be beyond excited.” Larter joins a cast that includes Milla Jovovich as lead protagonist Alice in addition to Wentworth Miller (who, as of late, has been menacing “The Flash” as Captain Cold) in the role of her brother, Chris Redfield. Larter previously played her character in Resident Evil: Extinction and Resident Evil: Afterlife, and is thrilled to be returning to the franchise. “How many movies have this kind of fanbase and get to be made six times?” Larter said. “I think that’s extraordinary. It’s a total testament to [series star] Milla [Jovovich] and Paul. I’m so grateful to them, that they chose me to be a part of it halfway through, and they’ve kept me along for the ride. I love that it’s not seven men and one woman. I mean, these are two women, and they’re not competing with each other. You know, there are such easy clichés these two could fall into, but this is definitely a female power movie.” Production is slated to begin later this month on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, with Cape Town, South Africa being one of several locales used for the sixth and (supposed) last part in the long-running Resident Evil franchise. Paul W.S. Anderson is set to return for his fourth outing as director and writer of the Screen Gems franchise. Currently the series is the highest-grossing franchise based on a video game, with over $915 million at the global box office across the five films. The last film to see release was Resident Evil: Retribution in 2012.
I don't if I believe this or not. Every time someone comes out and says that a film is the last one in a franchise, there is inevitably another film in the franchise that comes out a few years later. I do think however that I am leaning toward this being a true statement simply because of Milla Jovovich and Paul W.S. Anderson. I say them because they are husband and wife and they want to have a bigger family and if they want to spend time with them then the series kind of has to stop. Look I'm not a fan of the franchise whatsoever, but I do understand that there are people that like the franchise and hopefully this film can please the fans and be a good sendoff for them.
