My Review of The Bye Bye Man

So I recently watched The Bye Bye Man and I''m here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

When three college friends stumble upon the horrific origins of the Bye Bye Man, they discover that there is only one way to avoid his curse: don't think it, don't say it. But once the Bye Bye Man gets inside your head, he takes control.

After a year where horror films made a massive comeback, we are already starting 2017 off with a really bad bang. Now the concept of the film is very interesting and it even borrows from a lot of great horror films, but putting 2 and 2 together is a lot harder than it looks when it comes to this film. Horror films are either supposed to scare you or creep you out and this film does neither. The film has a cool concept and the mythos behind the Bye Bye Man himself is neat and you do a cool little backstory for him that gives you an idea of how he came to be, but other than that this film is a steaming pile of crap. Once again in another classic horror troupe, you get the dumbest characters to ever grace the big screen and you constantly scream at them to make the right choice, but they end up going down the dark hallway instead of going through the exit door that says guaranteed safety. The film is directed by Stacy Title (which is a terrible name to have with a terrible film) and it honestly seems like she has no idea what she is doing when it comes to filmmaking and it doesn't help when her husband is the writer and it's not she's going to tell him no when it comes to stupid ideas. One sign that your horror film is going to be terrible is when you as an audience member begin to laugh throughout the film instead of being scared and you do just that because this is more of a comedy than a horror film. Overall this film has a great concept and it even has a neat backstory for the villain, but everything else just falls flat and you can chuck this into the ever growing pile of terrible horror films. I give The Bye Bye Man a 0.5 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of The Bye Bye Man, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
