The Top 10 Disney Live-Action Animated Remakes I Want to See

Here recently Walt Disney Pictures has made live-action versions of their most famous animated classics with the most recent being The Jungle Book which was released this weekend. They are currently in production on several others such as Mulan and Beauty and the Beast. There are still quite a few that haven't been touched yet and some of them could be really fun remakes. With that being said I'm going to bring you the animated films from Disney that I would like to see be made into live-action films. So without further ado...

10. Hercules

There have been plenty different versions of Hercules portrayed on screen and a few of them have been pretty great, but recently the character has really been done any justice. Now the story of Hercules is in public domain and what means is that any film in public domain can be made by any studio at any given time as long as they do not use the same story of added characters from another version that weren't in the original story. But since Diseny would be remaking their own film they can still use the characters used in the animated film and I think this could be a new version of Gladiator and the characters would look great with today's technology.

9. Robin Hood

Like Hercules, the story of Robin Hood is in public domain. There have also been a lot of different versions of the story of Robin Hood. The big challenge with this film is the fact that all of the characters are animals and it might be hard to work with. If you went with real actors as the characters, but kept the same story, I don't know how it be received, but is definitely worth a shot

8. Pocahontas

Pocahontas is one of the more beloved films of the 1990's and it would be amazing to see the film in a live-action setting. You could make the talking tree a CGI character as well as the animals, but the rest of the cast would be live-action and it would be nice to see a live-action adaptation of this story.

7. The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Once upon a time back in 1923 there was a live-action version of this story with Lon Chaney Sr. in the lead role and it was a fabulous film. This verison of the story was fabulous as well and I think a live-action version of this, with the way we use makeup today could be both a gorgeous, yet haunting film. We would get a true look at how hideous  Quasimodo was in the eye of others.

6. Bambi

This might be the hardest film of the list to make. The reason is that all of the characters are animals and it just wouldn't really be a true live-action remake. The only way it could work is if the settings were live-action and maybe they might show the hunters as actors and the animals can be CGI. That's the only way it can work and hopefully it does one day.

5. The Sword in the Stone

There are so many possibilities with this being a live-action film. Just think of it as a possible Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones type of film with a little bit of Warcraft mixed in and I think it could be a massive hit. The visual effects could be spectacular with the technology today and they would seem so real.

4. Treasure Planet

Growing up this was one of my favorite films as a kid and I think it would be a huge hit today. I mean the vast differences with the novel and the other versions are obvious. I think the space element really settles the argument and just seeing the different ship designs that could be made today would be great and this might be one of the most visually beautiful films to ever grace the big screen. Plus with the character of Jim Hawkins, it could give a young actor a shot to prove how good he really is.

3. The Rescuers

This would be an awesome film to see with a live-action feel. The mice of course could be CGI, but the characters of Penny, Madame Medusa and Mr. Snoops would be actors and as much as I don't like here, Helena Bonham Carter would be a perfect choice for Madame Medusa and just imagining that actually gets me excited. I think it would be great to go the 3D technology we have and to get a great perspective from the mouse's POV.

2. Aladdin
A hand holds an oil lamp and another rubs it, and glowing dust starts coming off the lamp's nozzle. The text "Walt Disney Pictures presents: Aladdin" is atop the image, with the tagline "Imagine if you had three wishes, three hopes, three dreams and they all could come true." scrawling underneath it.

I think this might be the most requested live action adaptation that we haven't seen and I tend to agree. Now they are in production of a Genie spin-off film which sounds like it could be a prequel the events of Aladdin which could lead to this film getting the greenlight if successful. The only thing that would be a challenge for the film is finding someone to replace Robin Williams as Genie and I just don't know of there is anyone out there who could do a decent enough job to come close to William's performance. But there are a lot of different possibilities for this film if it were to be a live-action remake.

1. Atlantis: The Lost Empire
The expedition crew stand together as a mysterious woman is floating in the background, surrounded by stone effigies and emitting brilliant white beams of light from a crystal necklace.

I think this might be the most under-appreciated animated films Disney has ever released. I understand it has it's flaws, but it really is a great film. There have been more fan-castings of a live-action version of this film than any other film that could possibly be made. I think that this film is a diamond in the rough for Disney and just don't know if they realize the potential this film has if it here were a live-action film.

So ladies and gentlemen what are some animated films from Disney that you would like to see be made as a live-action film and what do you think of my list? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
