My Review of The Invitation

So I recently watched The Invitation and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

The Invitation (2015 film) POSTER.png

While attending a dinner party at his former home, Will (played by Logan Marshall-Green) thinks his ex-wife Eden (played by Tammy Blanchard) and her new husband David (played by Michiel Huisman) have sinister intentions towards their guests.

This is a really intense film. If you like films that are slow burning and that have so much tension that you are sitting on the edge of your seat the entire time, then this is the film for you. Karyn Kusama is able to take a relatively simple plot and turn it in so many different directions, that you don't know which way is what and that keeps you guessing and on your toes throughout the film. As mentioned before the film moves at a really slow pace and if you can just get through those moments the film will just get better and better. The film is full of great performances, but the real standout is Logan Marshall-Green who is just absolutely fantastic and it is one of the more bone-chilling performances of the year. With the film having such a slow pace, there are moments that are pretty boring and they are tough to make it though, but the payoff is worth it. The film feels like a horror film due to the tension that builds, but there are some moments where the film tries to be something it's not. Overall this is a film you have to pay attention to and be prepared to go through a grind to get to the final scene. I give The Invitation a 9 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of The Invitation, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
