My Review of Criminal

So I recently watched Criminal and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado.........

CIA agent Bill Pope (played by Ryan Reynolds) dies while traveling to a secret location to meet a hacker who can launch missiles at will. Desperate to find his whereabouts, officials turn to an experimental neurosurgeon who can transfer memories from one brain to another. The guinea pig for the procedure is Jerico Stewart (played by Kevin Costner), a violent and dangerous death-row inmate. Now gifted with Pope's skills and knowledge, Stewart must race against time to stop a sinister international conspiracy.

This is a pretty lackluster film. When you have a film that has the talents of Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman and Ryan Reynolds you at least expect a decent film and instead you get one of the most boring and uneventful films of all-time. All of the action doesn't make sense and it just seemed lazy. The story is generic and it's just nothing new or exciting and you can't sink your teeth into anything that is going on. The film basically copies the premise of Self/Less just not as well as the filmmakers had hoped they would. The performances are ok to point where nothing they did was cringe worthy, but their characters had no development and you just didn't care what happened to them. You all of the basics for a thriller film with the mustache twirling villain, the bad guy turned good and the over-zealous cop who tries to control every aspect. The film takes itself way too seriously and there was just no fun in anything they did to help make it seem like this was a great film. Overall this was a boring and generic thriller that you shouldn't waste your time on. I give Criminal a 2 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Criminal, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
