My Review of The Boss

So I recently watched The Boss and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado........

Wealthy CEO Michelle Darnell (played by Melissa McCarthy) always gets her way, until she's busted for insider trading and sent to federal prison. After leaving jail, Darnell finds herself broke, homeless and hated. Luckily, she tracks down former assistant Claire (played by Kristen Bell), the only person who's willing to help. While staying with Claire and her young daughter, the ex-con devises a new business model for a brownie empire. Unfortunately, some old enemies stand in the way of her return to the top.

This is a disaster of a film. Melissa McCarthy is a great actress and she has been in a lot of good films, however this isn't one of those films. The film like her previous films are so predictable and the story is nothing we haven't seen before. The film itself sorta parallels Troop Beverly Hills in a way and that was a way better film than this. Melissa McCarthy is caught playing the same character she played in both Identity Thief and Tammy in which she is a criminal who does all of these horrible things and acts like she's done nothing wrong. One of the main reasons why this is happening so frequently is becasue of the director Ben Falcone who also just happens to be Melissa McCarthy's husband and while there is nothing wrong with him directing the film, it;'s just he doesn't challenge he enough to give better and more believable performances with these same characters. The jokes in the film are pretty funny compared to her other films not directed by Paul Feig, but the same jokes are also prevalent and it just makes the film feel dull and boring. Overall this is just a really stupid and boring film with nothing new or original and Melissa McCarthy continues to be the most unoriginal comedic actor. I give The Boss a 1 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of The Boss, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
