1. War for the Planet of the Apes took over the number one spot, but it made $16 million less than Dawn of the Planet of the Apes did 3 years ago. I firmly believe delaying the film a year hurt the momentum.
2. The Big Sick continues to gain more and more money as each week passes slowly becoming a massive financial success as well as a critical success.
3. Wonder Woman continues to once again hold on strong in the top 10 and it looks like it will for the foreseeable future.
4. The biggest loser of the weekend was The House as it mad 63.7% less than it did last weekend and the biggest winner of the weekend was The Big Sick as it made 110.5% more than it did last weekend.
5. I went 3 for 5 on my predictions.
Predictions
1. Dunkirk $55 Million
2. War for the Planet of the Apes $23 Million
2. War for the Planet of the Apes $23 Million
3. Girls Trip $20 Million
4. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets $17 Million
5. Spider-Man: Homecoming $13 Million
So ladies and gentlemen what do you think of this weekend's box office totals and what are some of your takeaways? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
