So I recently watched Baby Driver and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...
Talented getaway driver Baby (played by Ansel Elgort) relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. After meeting the woman (played by Lily James) of his dreams, he sees a chance to ditch his shady lifestyle and make a clean break. Coerced into working for a crime boss (played by Kevin Spacey), Baby must face the music as a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.
This is absolutely fantastic film. Edgar Wright is one of the most talented directors working today and his style fits perfectly with this film plus it's his chance to make a heist film after him and Marvel parted ways after differences on Ant-Man. From the moment go, the film gets moving at an extremely fast paced and never really slows down and it;s loaded full of action and it doesn't hurt to have a great soundtrack to go along with it. While the fast pace and big action scenes have there perks, there are moments within the film where you can't really focus on what is going because there are so many moving parts. Edgar wright also has a unique brand of comedy that you wouldn't think would work in a film like this, but sometimes it's so subtle and on point that it just makes you bust out with laughter. The performances in the film are absolutely amazing and f you ever had any doubts about Ansel Elgort's acting ability then you'll be proven wrong after watching this film. The veteran actors come to play as well as Jamie Foxx, Jon Hamm and Kevin Spacey are used so well in the film and they all each have the big moments to shine. Overall this film is just an action packed thrill ride that will keep you enticed throughout the entire film with great performances to boast along the story into one of the more entertaining films of the year. I give Baby Driver a 9.5 out of 10.
So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Baby Driver, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
