So I recently watched Camp X-Ray and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...
Amy Cole (played by Kristen Stewart) joins the military to be part of something bigger than herself and her small town roots. But she ends up as a new guard at Guantanamo Bay instead, where her mission is far from black and white. Surrounded by hostile jihadists and aggressive squadmates, she strikes up an unusual friendship with one of the detainees (played by Peyman Moaadi). A story of two people, on opposite sides of a war, struggling to find their way through the ethical quagmire of Guantanamo Bay. And in the process, they form an unlikely bond that changes them both.
This was an ok film. It has a really interesting story but it's not executed well at all. It deals with a lot of different social issues, but it really does nothing to bring to lite and doesn't capitalize on what it has. It has great performances from both Kristen Stewart and Peyman Moaadi, but the film doesn't develop their characters and you couldn't care less for them. Overall the film has great performances, but the film just isn't executed well at all. I give Camp X-Ray a 5 out of 10.
So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Camp X-Ray, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
