Hello ladies and gentlemen, here is some movie news with some of my thoughts and opinions (which will be in BOLD print). So without further ado...
(NOTE: All of these stories come from comingsoon.net)
The Hollywood Reporter got a chance to chat with Academy Award-winning thesp Jeremy Irons while he was receiving a career tribute at the Marrakech International Film Festival, and the actor spoke briefly on his turn as Bruce Wayne’s stalwart English butler Alfred in director Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. “He is quite a different Alfred than we have seen so far,” said Irons. “Zack Snyder had very clear views about what he wanted. I would just say he’s more hands-on perhaps than just a butler.” Does that indicate that we will see Alfred get in on the action a little rather than simply ordering Batman’s helmets from China and giving him sage advice (and breakfast)? Or maybe Alfred is a sparring partner/fight trainer to Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne, kind of like how Stick helped sensei Daredevil? (Maybe not the best example.) A kick-butt Alfred would certainly be an interesting change of pace, all due respect to Michael Gough and Michael Caine. Irons admits Alfred is “not a large role,” what with most of the Justice League scrambling for screentime, but he did say that working on the gargantuan blockbuster was “not that different than ‘Die Hard,’” referring to his role as the diabolical Simon in 1995′s Die Hard With a Vengeance. Having just wrapped a nearly eight-month-long shoot, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Jena Malone, Holly Hunter and Scoot McNairy, and hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
I really like these comments. When it was announced that Jeremy Irons was going to play Alfred, I couldn't be more excited.I mean the guy is an Academy Award winning actor he was awesome is Die Hard With a Vengeance. I think he'll bring the ruff and tough type of Alfred to the big screen and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get into a couple of fights while he is one screen.
Back in October, Warner Bros. finally confirmed that former “Game of Thrones” star Jason Momoa would play Aquaman in their DC Cinematic Universe despite months of dodging the question. Momoa previously spoke about the casting where he indicated how little he knew of their overall plans for the character, but at the Comic-Con Experience in São Paulo, Brazil (via CBM) this weekend, he opened up about what he wants to see. He is quoted a s saying that he has signed on for 4 films and that he wants Zack Snyder to direct the Aquaman solo film. He also stated that he had been apart of the cast for a really long time, but he had to keep quiet. It’s long been reported that Momoa will make his big screen debut as Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which debuts in theaters on March 25, 2016. Momoa will return as the king of Atlantis for Justice League: Part One on November 10. 2017, a solo Aquaman film set for release on July 27, 2018, and presumably the final film in his contract is Justice League: Part Two, set for release June 14, 2019.
These comments are awesome. Jason Mamoa is the perfect person for this role and he'll bring credibility to the character and no one will make fun of Aquaman anymore. As for the films he'll be in it's quite obvious those will be Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Aquaman, Justice League Part 1 and Part 2. Also I don't think that Snyder will direct the solo Aquaman film simply because he'll be busy doing both parts of Justice League and the Man of Steel sequel. I was excited for the casting and I cannot wait to see what Mamoa brings to the role.
The teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens launched ten days ago and has been watched millions of times in that short span, but one person who hasn’t watched it is the creator of the franchise, George Lucas. Speaking with Page Six, Lucas revealed he hasn’t seen the trailer just yet, but he will see the whole movie eventually. “I don’t know anything about it. I haven’t seen it yet.” When asked why, Lucas replied: “Because it’s not in the movie theater. I like going to the movies and watching the whole thing there…..I plan to see it when it’s released.” Lucas was also asked if he was curious to see what director J.J. Abrams has done with the series for it’s seventh chapter, to which he reportedly replied: “Not really.” Though Lucas may not be curious about what Abrams is doing, the rest of the planet clearly is as “The Force Awakens” trailer has brought in over 100 million views in one week.Starring Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Crystal Clarke, Pip Anderson, Christina Chong and Miltos Yerolemou, the J.J. Abrams-directed film will debut in theaters on December 18, 2015.
I don't buy these comments. Look this is George Lucas's baby and let's be honest he was hurt by the bad reactions to the prequel films and that caused him to say that there would be no more films. Now that it's no longer his I could understand why he would say what he said, but listen everyone has seen the trailer and if you haven't then shame on you and get out from under the rock you are living under and watch it now. George still has a lot to gain from the film so on the inside he's probably giggling like a little schoolgirl.
The official James Bond 007 Facebook page has posted the first picture from Day 1 on the set of Spectre which features a very familiar bulldog from 2012′s Skyfall and you can check out the pic below. In the previous movie, Judy Dench’s M willed the bulldog statue to Daniel Craig’s 007, with Naomie Harris’ Eve Moneypenny remarking, “Maybe it was her way of telling you to take a desk job?” to which Bond replied, “Just the opposite.” The cast for the film also includes Rory Kinnear as Tanner, Ben Whishaw as Q, Ralph Fiennes as M, Andrew Scott as Denbigh, David Bautista as Mr Hinx, Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra, Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, Christoph Waltz as Oberhauser, and Jesper Christensen as Mr. White. Spectre will be filmed at Pinewood London, Mexico City, Rome, Tangier & Erfoud, Morocco, Sölden, Obertilliach and Lake Altausee and Austria. Written by John Logan and Neal Purvis & Robert Wade, the film will once again be directed by Skyfall‘s Sam Mendes and is set for release on November 6, 2015.
I really like this picture. One reason why is because it shows that the film is officially moving forward and the other reason is because the sentiment that is carried with it. The bulldog is something very key in Skyfall and to see it may mean that we could get a surprise return from Dame Judi Dench in perhaps a flashback or she actually isn't dead, but who knows. All I know is that I'm overly excited to see the film and I cannot wait for it to come out.
We first caught a glimpse of the characters back in October when Disney•Pixar’s Inside Out debuted its teaser trailer, but it’s only now, courtesy of USA Today, that we learn Diane Lane and Kyle MacLachlan will be lending their voices to director Pete Docter’s June 19, 2015 release. Set inside the mind of an 11-year-old named Riley, Inside Out knows that growing up can be a bumpy road. It’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school. Lane and MacLachlan will voice Riley’s parents (who, as previously reported have their own sets of emotions guiding them). The Oscar-nominated Lane is already known to fans for being a super-mom: she recently played Martha Kent in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel and is expected to reprise the role for 2016′s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. MacLachlan, on the other hand, is currently playing a not-so-super comic book father on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”
This is really great casting. Diane Lane is a Academy Award nominated actress and Kyle MacLachlan has been in some pretty bad films, but he is a very talented actor. I think putting them in this film is a great idea and they seem like really great fits for the film. This film sounds amazing and everything I have seen so far this could the film that could win the Oscar for Best Picture it has that potential and I cannot wait to see the film.
