My Review of The Wind Rises

So I recently watched The Wind Rises and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado.......

Jiro (viced by Hideaki Anno (Japanese version) and voiced by Joseph Gordon-Levitt (American Version) dreams of flying and designing beautiful airplanes, inspired by the famous Italian aeronautical designer Caproni (voiced by Nomura Mansai (Japanese Version) and Stanley Tucci (American Version). Nearsighted from a young age and unable to be a pilot, Jiro joins a major Japanese engineering company in 1927 and becomes one of the world’s most innovative and accomplished airplane designers. The film chronicles much of his life, depicting key historical events, including the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, the Great Depression, the tuberculosis epidemic and Japan’s plunge into war. Jiro meets and falls in love with Nahoko (voiced by Miori Takimoto (Japanese Version) and Emily Blunt (American Version), and grows and cherishes his friendship with his colleague Honjo (voiced by Hidetoshi Nishijima (Japanese Version) and John Krasinski (American Version).

This film is absolutely amazing. The voice cast does amazing work the story is suspenseful and passionate and in his final film, Hayao Miyazaki hits it out of the ballpark once again and he will be deeply missed in  the directing community. Overall The Wind Rises is a fantastic masterpiece of animation and I'm going to it a 10 out of 10.

So Ladies and gentlemen what did you think of The Wind Rises, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section and let your voice be heard.
