My Review of Son of God

So I recently watched Son of God and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado.............

Son of God film poster.jpg

This major motion picture event -- an experience created to be shared among families and communities across the U.S. -- brings the story of Jesus’ life to audiences through compelling cinematic storytelling that is both powerful and inspirational.

Alright before I get into my review I want to say that I am a christian, I believe in god's holy word and i am an active member in my church and that this review was really hard to do and because I didn't want to offend someone and if I do I am truly sorry. With that being said this film is pretty bad. Now I will say that this film has probably been the best and most portrayal of Jesus's life on earth and brings across a great message.  But since I am reviewing a film I have to look at negative aspects (none of which pertain to the story) and this film has some negatives. I thought the visuals in the film were horrible, I thought the acting was terrible and it felt like a TV movie (and yes I know it was based off of the TV miniseries The Bible) and I feel that the film would have worked better on TV that way more people could see it and not have to spend gas money to get to and from the theater and not spend almost $100 to see a film that could have easily worked on the small screen. But overall I enjoyed the story and it was a great portrayal of Jesus's life Overall i give Son of God a 5 out of 10 and I highly recommend that Sunday School teachers show this to their classes at least once a year.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Son of God, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section and let your voice be heard.

                                                                                                                                            Jonah Sparks

My Review of Sabotage

So I recently watched Sabotage and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado.................

Sabotage (2014 film poster).jpg

John “Breacher” Wharton (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger) leads an elite DEA task force that takes on the world's deadliest drug cartels. When the team successfully executes a high-stakes raid on a cartel safe house, they think their work is done - until, one-by-one, the team members mysteriously start to be eliminated. As the body count rises, everyone is a suspect.

This film is pretty bad. Look I'm a huge Schwarzenegger fan and I love just about every movie he's ever done, but his film is so bad. The story gets really confusing and very sloppy. I had really high hope for the film simply because the director is the same who did Training Day and End of Watch (which are incredible movies). This is Arnold's worst performance and just tries too hard. The supporting cast a few bright spots but other than that you really don't give a crap about what happens to their characters in the film. I will admit there are a lot of good action scenes and those kept me entertained for the most part but I was just simply too bored with the film. Overall I give Sabotage a 2 out of 10 and I would only watch it if it was on TV and it was the only thing on.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Sabotage, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.

My Review of Noah

So I recently watched Noah and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado......................

Noah2014Poster.jpg

The Biblical Noah (played by Russell Crowe) suffers visions of an apocalyptic deluge and takes measures to protect his family from the coming flood.

First off I want to say that I am a christian, I am saved and I am active member in my church. I also want to say that before you go into the film leave your thoughts and beliefs at the door, that way the film can be more enjoyable and then after the film you can judge it for what it's worth. Now with that out of the way I want to say that this film is amazing. Russell Crowe gives an outstanding performance as Noah, and so does the supporting cast especially Emma Watson. The cinematography and visuals in the film are magnificent. The film really makes us think about our lives and it puts a wonderful perspective on mankind. The two small negatives I have is number 1 the violence- the film has some really gruesome scenes that I thought were very unnecessary and number 2 Jennifer Connolly's performance as Noah's wife Naameh. I think she overacted way to much and every time she was on screen I cringed a little. Overall I really enjoyed the film it gave me a new perspective on life. Overall I give Noah a 10 out of 10 and highly recommend that you see it in theaters.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Noah, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section and let your voice be heard.

My Top 10 Favorite Non-Horror Villains of All-Time

A villain (also known in film and literature as the "antagonist," "baddie", "bad guy", or "black hat") is an "evil" character in a story, whether a historical narrative or, especially, a work of fiction. The villain usually is the antagonist (though can be the protagonist), the character who tends to have a negative effect on other characters. A female villain is sometimes called a villainess (often to differentiate her from a male villain). Random House Unabridged Dictionary defines villain as "a cruelly malicious person who is involved in or devoted to wickedness or crime; scoundrel; or a character in a play, novel, or the like, who constitutes an important evil agency in the plot". In film villains can become some of the most iconic characters in the movie and sometimes can be cheered on more than the heroes. With that being said I'm going to bring you my top 10 favorite non-horror villains of all-time, along  with the actors that portrayed them and the films that each villain was in. My Review of Bad Words

So I recently watched Bad Words and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado.............

BadWords2014.jpg

Guy Trilby (played by Jason Bateman), a 40-year-old misanthrope, makes waves at a regional spelling bee when, due to a loophole in the rules, he is allowed to enter and later wins. Hurling insults at every turn, Guy advances to the national contest in Los Angeles, accompanied by a reporter (played by Kathryn Hahn) who wants to discover his hidden motives for entering the bee. As the competition gears up, friendless Guy inexplicably forms a bond with a young speller who is feeling parental pressure to win.

I absolutely love this film. This film is pretty much a mix of Bad Santa and Billy Madison and it is absolutely hilarious. Jason Bateman is awesome in this film as well as the supporting performances of Allison Janney, Kathryn Hahn and Rohan Chand. Jason Bateman knocks it out of the park in his directorial debut. The jokes are just hilarious and If you get the chance to see it then see it. Now my biggest complaint in the film is that it gets just a little too dramatic at some points and that's not necessarily good for comedies. But overall I love the film and you should definitely check it out. I give Bad Words an 8.5 out of 10 and you should rent it or buy it on VOD/PPV.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Bad Words, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section and let your voice be heard.
