So I recently watched Thor: Ragnarok and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...
Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth) finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk, his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor's quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.
This has to be funniest MCU film to date. One of the things the Thor franchise has been known for has been known for its dark tone with some subtle comedy, but this film pushes aside the dark tone and brings the comedy full force. Every scene is filled with at least a couple of jokes and some of them are absolutely hilarious, but some of them do feel forced and as if the film is just constantly hitting you over the head for no reason. Visually this film is a big throwback to the 80's in a lot of ways and one of those things is the music and color palette used throughout the film. The performances are absolutely outstanding and Chris Hemsworth really shines as Thor in this film and it even helps with Mark Ruffalo joining the fold as Hulk in the film. One of the biggest complaints about the MCU are the villains and how Marvel tends to waste the, but Cate Blanchett as Hela is by far the best villain in the MCU, but that isn't a high bar to meet considering most of them have been on the weaker end of the spectrum. It's also does a great job of expanding on the galactic element in the MCU and really showing how things fit into the bigger picture of MCU as a whole. The film does feel as if there are a lot of conveniences and it does waste certain elements presented that could've been used later in the film, but as for the story as a whole it doesn't waste any time in getting to the plot of the film which is another first for the MCU and that's a massive credit to director Taika Waititi and with this possibly being the last Thor film (The MCU has only done three solo films for certain characters and this is the third one), it wouldn't shock me to see him direct other MCU films down the line. Overall this is a fabulous movie with a lot of new things for the MCU that really give a lot o hope for how the rest of these film are going to pan put, but the comedy does get a little tiring especially when some of the running jokes should never have gotten off the starting line. I give Thor: Ragnarok a 9.5 out of 10.
So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Thor: Ragnarok., what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
