So I recently watched A Bad Moms Christmas and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...
Under-appreciated and overburdened moms Amy (played by Mila Kunis), Kiki (played by Kristen Bell) and Carla (played by Kathryn Hahn) rebel against the challenges and expectations of the Super Bowl for moms: Christmas. As if creating the perfect holiday for their families isn't hard enough, they'll have to do it while hosting and entertaining their own respective mothers when they come to visit.
This a really funny yet repetitive film. The first film did a lot of different things for the comedy genre and it was a really surprise film last year. This film has a lot of great jokes, but it really follows the same format as the previous film in that the three moms are outcasts and trying to make the best out of a situation when things go terribly wrong by three other women who try to ruin the film. In the last film is was three other mothers and in this film it happens to be the main trios mothers. The real big difference is that it's set around Christmas time. The performances are great and once again Kathryn Hahn steals the film with her brilliant comedic timing and event the addition of the the three veteran actresses Christine Baranski, Susan Surandon and Cheryl Hines all bring something fresh to the film in general. As mentioned the jokes ar just as raunchy as the previous films, however some of them are a little over the top and some just go on for far too long.. Also as said earlier the story is basically the same and it hits everything single plot point from the first film and in this day and age you can't do that and expect the same results. Overall this film is filled with some great laughs and some decent performances, but some of the jokes fall flat and the story is nothing new and does nothing to help separate it from its predecessor. I give A Bad Moms Christmas a 4 out of 10.
