So I recently watched Daddy's Home 2 and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...
Father and stepfather Dusty (played by Mark Wahlberg) and Brad (played by Will Ferrell) join forces to make Christmastime perfect for the children. Their newfound partnership soon gets put to the test when Dusty's old-school, macho dad (played by Mel Gibson) and Brad's gentle father (played by John Lithgow) arrive to turn the holiday upside down. After a sudden change in plans, the four men decide to take the kids to a luxury resort for a fun-filled getaway that turns into a hilariously chaotic adventure.
This film isn't funny at all and it's a complete waste of great talent. You could basically put the review of A Bad Moms Christmas in for this one and you'd get the same result. The first film had a lot of laughs, but of course the story wasn't the greatest and it was enough to get you by for the film. In this film there are a couple of solid jokes, but most of them fall flat and the story is basically the same and all it did was add a couple of characters by adding veteran actors. The performances are pretty weak and it's a ad sight to see guys like Mel Gibson and John Lithgow tread through this film and deliver some pretty cringe-worthy dialogue. As mentioned the story is nothing to brag about and it follows the same plot point as the first film. One of the big things from the first film was the chemistry between Wahlberg and Ferrell and there are moments where they feed off of each other pretty well and then there are moments where they just don't click at all and that happens in the majority of the film. Once again the film i on the boundary of an R-rated film and it could've went there and instead it held back which doesn't make a lot of sense when you consider everyone involved. Overall this film has a few laughs and that's it as the plot is a mess and rehash of the first film and none the characters have hardly any chemistry to keep you even remotely interested in the film. I give Daddy's Home 2 a 1 out of 10.
So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Daddy's Home 2, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
