So I recently watched Atomic Blonde and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...
Sensual and savage, Lorraine Broughton (played by Charlize Theron) is the most elite spy in MI6, an agent who's willing to use all of her lethal skills to stay alive during an impossible mission. With the Berlin Wall about to fall, she travels into the heart of the city to retrieve a priceless dossier and take down a ruthless espionage ring. Once there, she teams up with an embedded station chief to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies.
This is a really entertaining and action packed film. Many of us are used to seeing male action stars such as Matt Damon or Daniel Craig take on roles like Jason Bourne and James Bond respectively, but we've never seen a female take on a spy like role that has this much action before and the film does not disappoint. The fresh ideas it comes up with are game changing for the spy genre and it's nice to see a female step up into the genre and really show that females can do great in this genre and it's all a accredited to Charlize Theron's performance as she can change the mood of a scene in an instant and it really helps set the tone for what type of person she is and is willing to do. As mentioned before the film is action-packed and every action scene in the film just feels so realistic and you can feel every single punch or kick being thrown and those types of action films are hard so come by and the fact we get one in 2017 with a female action star is quite remarkable. One things that could definitely stem from all of this a brand new franchise and that would be something very fresh especially in today's movie market with a female leading a massive action franchise. The film does have its problems and one such problem is that the film is probably 15 minutes longer than it needs to be and it does pack in a lot of material in one go around when some stuff could be saved for a sequel down the line. Overall this refreshing film to watch and it has all of the action and film fan can ask for and it helps even more knowing that it is a female leading the charge. I give Atomic Blonde a 9 out of 10.
So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Atomic Blonde, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
