My Review of Logan

So I recently watched Logan and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado.............

In the near future, a weary Logan (played by Hugh Jackman) cares for an ailing Professor X (played by Patrick Stewart) in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan's attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant (played by Dafne Keen) arrives, being pursued by dark forces.

Honestly there are no words that you don't already know on how to explain this movie. Since 2000, Hugh Jackman has played this character and in every film he gives a great performance, but none of them compare to this performance and if everything can hold on for the next 8 months, this man is getting an Oscar nomination (yes he's that good). He bring such an emotional and powerful performance and with him knowing this is the last time he'll play the character, he wanted to give it everything to make this the best sendoff possible. Speaking of emotional performances, seeing Patrick Stewart in this film makes this film feel so special as it is a sendoff for his character as well (James McAvoy will still be the younger Professor X) and it might finally get him that first Oscar nomination he's been looking for. Much like The Dark Knight (my personal favorite film of all-time), this film transcends the comic book genre by being able to not take itself too seriously, but is able to ground itself in reality and that really just binds the whole film together. One thing fans have asked for is an R-rated Wolverine film just to show the character for who he really his and in this film the R-rating holds up as there are a lot of violent scenes and it's just enough to where it's not over-the-top and ridiculous. Also if you're wondering if you need to see any of the previous X-Men films don't worry about it because the entire X-Men continuity is screwed up anyway so just go in with a clear mind and you'll be better off. Besides Jackman and Stewart, the real standout is Dafne Keen as Laura aka X-23 and she is just great in every facet of the film bringing a great mix of humor and emotion and she is a star in the making and this film is a great starting point for her career. Overall this film is everything you want in a film and it bodes some really great performances by the main trio or Jackman, Stewart and Keen while not only serving the fans of these characters, but also caters to the general audience in a way a comic book film hasn't done since The Dark Knight. I give Logan a 10 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Logan, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
