My Review of The Belko Experiment

So I recently watched The Belko Experiment and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

An ordinary day at the office becomes a horrific quest for survival when 80 employees at the Belko Corp. in Bogotá, Colombia, learn that they are pawns in a deadly game. Trapped inside their building, a voice over an intercom tells the frightened staffers that two workers must be killed within 30 minutes. When another ultimatum follows, friends become enemies and new alliances take shape, as only the strongest will remain alive at the end.

This a very entertaining film for the most part. When it comes to violence we often think of horror slasher films like Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween or Saw and now you can mention The Belko Experiment. It offers a very unique setting within inside of an office and it offers a lot interesting ways to kill people and if you work in this type of setting don't get too crazy with all of the ideas presented within the film. The performances are ok for this type of film and they aren't bad enough for you to hate them or just be unfocused from the film, but the archs of each character is self-explanatory and with certain predictable outcomes, the development falls flat. As mentioned previously, the film is very predictable and at every given moment when someone is getting ready to die you know it and even ending is one that has been shown over and over again. It does move at a relatively fast paced and a lot of the death scenes happen in quick succession which it good to a degree becasue you can't show all the deaths and you just have to assume that audience knows that every character we don't anymore in the film is dead. While moving at a fast pace, you don't get savior the brutal deaths and they become less impactful. It's not great to see someone die, but as humans naturally do, they react differently when someone tells them how a person died whether it be cancer or getting decapitated and getting the correct reaction makes each death feel worse than it already it. Overall this film is very violent in a number of ways and those death scenes are the only entertaining part of the film whereas the rest of the film is a predictable and it's something that's been seen time and time again. I give The Belko Experiment a 3 out of 10.
