Hello ladies and gentlemen, here is some movie news with some of my thoughts and opinions (which will be in BOLD print). So without further ado...

Robin Williams has died today at the age of 63. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor was found today in his Tiburon, California home, appearing to have taken his own life.
The official police statement reads as follows: "On August 11, 2014, at approximately 11:55 a.m, Marin County Communications received a 9-1-1 telephone call reporting a male adult had been located unconscious and not breathing inside his residence in unincorporated Tiburon, CA. The Sheriff’s Office, as well as the Tiburon Fire Department and Southern Marin Fire Protection District were dispatched to the incident with emergency personnel arriving on scene at 12:00 pm. The male subject, pronounced deceased at 12:02 pm has been identified as Robin McLaurin Williams, a 63-year-old resident of unincorporated Tiburon, CA.
An investigation into the cause, manner, and circumstances of the death is currently underway by the Investigations and Coroner Division s of the Sheriff’s Office. Preliminary information developed during the investigation indicates Mr. Williams was last seen alive at his residence, where he resides with his wife, at approximately 10:00 pm on August 10, 2014. Mr. Williams was located this morning shortly before the 9-1-1 call was placed to Marin County Communications. At this time, the Sheriff’s Office Coroner Division suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation must be completed before a final determination is made. A forensic examination is currently scheduled for August 12, 2014 with subsequent toxicology testing to be conducted."
Williams' publicist, Mara Buxbaum, said: "Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time." His wife, Susan Schneider, said: "This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin's family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin's death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions."
Williams made a name for himself starring in the hit ABC series, "Mork & Mindy." Williams played Mork, an alien from the planet Ork, opposite Pam Dawber's Mindy. From there, Williams continued to build a name for himself as both a stand up comedian and an actor, winning an Academy Award for his work in Gus Van Sant's Good Will Hunting. He was nominated for three more Academy Awards and was also a two-time Emmy, five-time Golden Globe and six-time Grammy winner, but his incredible list of credits speaks for itself.
Williams recently starred in the CBS comedy series "The Crazy Ones," which was cancelled after one season, and will next appear in Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb in December. 20th Century Fox, the distributor of the "Night at the Museum" films, released the following statement: "There are no words to describe the loss of Robin Williams. Our hearts go out to his family, friends and fans. He will be deeply missed."
This just absolutely breaks my heart to hear. Robin Williams was one of the greatest actors of this generation and is talents will be deeply missed. He was one of my favorite actors and I loved every film that he was in (yes even Hook). Robin Williams will be remembered from his magnificent performances and his comedic ability and my condolences go out to his family.
Back in May it was revealed that screenwriter Roberto Orci would direct the upcoming third (or thirteenth, depending on your view) Star Trek film, taking the reins from director J.J. Abrams, who helmed 2009's Star Trek and 2013's Star Trek Into Darkness. Speaking with the BBC, cast member Simon Pegg, who plays Scotty in the new series, spoke about Orci stepping in for the third film, saying it makes "perfect sense." "I'm really happy he's doing it as it's kept within the family kind of thing, it's not somebody coming in from outside. Bob's been there since the first Star Trek - by that I mean the 2009 one - so it seemed to make perfect sense that he come in as a director on this one because he gets it. He was always the most Trekkie of all of those guys anyway, he's always understood the story the best so it's great that he's going to be involved in the writing and directing."
Pegg also confirmed that, despite directing the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, he expects J.J. Abrams to remain on board the project in some capacity."I don't think JJ would be able to let it completely go because that's not in his nature."
Orci is joined on the project by screenwriters Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne, who are helping him pen the next adventure of the Enterprise crew. The expectation is that Star Trek 3 will land in theaters in 2016, just in time for the franchise's 50th anniversary. At the moment, however, no release date has been set.
It's good to hear this. I'm glad to hear that the actors are excited for Roberto Orci to takeover the franchise. Hopefully the cast and Orci can gel together and build on what JJ Abrams built in the previous two films.
The Canal is coming to select theaters and iTunes and VOD on October 10th and we're pleased to share with you the U.S. trailer for the film, courtesy of ShockTillYouDrop.com and The Orchard. Rupert Evans (Hellboy) stars and Ivan Kavanaugh writes and directs.
Sitting in an empty theater, a film archivist watches the grainy footage that will be his undoing. David and his wife are perfectly happy – or so he believes. When he finds out the home he shares with his wife and son was the scene of a ghastly turn-of-the-century murder, David dismisses it as ancient history. That is, until the sinister history ripples into the present and casts a shadow over life as he knows it. And when a looming secret shatters his marriage, David can’t help but suspect the dark spirits of the house are somehow involved. In his drive to unveil the shadows hidden in the walls, David begins to descend into insanity, threatening the lives of everyone around him.
This was actually a really creepy trailer. It almost feels like and updated version and different take on The Amityville Horror. I'm just glad that the film will be released around Halloween and I can't wait to see the film.
Relativity Media has debuted a new trailer for director Michael Hoffman's adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' The Best of Me. You can check it out in the below
Michelle Monaghan, James Marsden, Liana Liberato, Luke Bracey, Sebastian Arcelus and Gerald McRaney star in the story of Dawson and Amanda, two former high school sweethearts who find themselves reunited after 20 years apart, when they return to their small town for the funeral of a beloved friend. Their bittersweet reunion reignites the love they've never forgotten, but soon they discover the forces that drove them apart twenty years ago live on, posing even more serious threats today. Spanning decades, this epic love story captures the enduring power of our first true love, and the wrenching choices we face when confronted with elusive second chances.
The Best of Me hits theaters October 17
This was such a boring trailer. I mean the trailer pretty much gave away the entire film and that's just not going to cut it. I haven't read the book, but it feels like every other Nicholas Sparks film made. Hopefully this film can surprise me and actually be good.
Following last week's new domestic trailer, the new international trailer and quad poster for thriller The Guest has been released as well. You can check them out below! In the September 17 release, a soldier (Dan Stevens) introduces himself to the Peterson family, claiming to be a friend of their son who died in action. After the young man is welcomed into their home, a series of accidental deaths seem to be connected to his presence. The Guest co-stars Maika Monroe, Leland Orser, Lance Reddick, Chase Williamson and Brendan Meyer. The film was directed by Adam Wingard and written by Simon Barrett, who previously teamed up for You're Next.
This was an intense trailer. The film appears that it will have a lot of action and it could almost be sort of like a The Raid type of movie. I'm actually really excited for this film to come out now and it's because of this trailer.
