So I recently watched The Commuter and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...
Insurance salesman Michael (played by Liam Neeson) is on his daily commute home, which quickly becomes anything but routine. After being contacted by a mysterious stranger, Michael is forced to uncover the identity of a hidden passenger on the train before the last stop. As he works against the clock to solve the puzzle, he realizes a deadly plan is unfolding, and he is unwittingly caught up in a criminal conspiracy that carries life and death stakes for everyone on the train.
If there was ever a film to basically parody films that the lead actor of those films is in this film, then this would be that film. Liam Neeson has been in a lot of really bad action films as of late and really the last good action film he was in was Taken which was 10 years ago and you can just add this film to that list. The film is cliched as cliched could get and it follows a lot of the same beat by beat plot points we see over and over again. The overall premise of the film seems good on paper, but the execution is just so poor and none of it makes any sense and when the ultimate payoff comes at the end, you honestly could care less. The film is loaded with a lot of great talent, but it's basically all wasted and besides Liam Neeson you don't really get to see those other talented actors on screen hardly at all. In an action movies you're supposed to have a lot of action to help keep you entertained, but there is barely any action in the movie at all and when you do get action it's the same thing you just saw in the last action scene. although there a couple of moves pulled off that do make some action scenes watchable Overall this is a poor film to being 2018 with and it's a film that just has so many cliched moments that are rehashed from other films, really poor acting from a talented cast and some of the most over the top and awful action scenes put onto film. I give The Commuter a 1 out of 10.
So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of The Commuter, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
