My Review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

So I recently watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...

The turtles face a new challenge when Shredder (played by Brian Tee) escapes from custody and joins forces with Baxter Stockman (played by Tyler Perry), a mad scientist who plans to use a serum to take over the world. Along for the ride are Bebop (played by Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (played by Stephen "Sheamus" Farrelly), two dimwitted henchmen who provide plenty of muscle. Luckily, the turtles have their own allies in April O'Neil (played by Megan Fox), Vernon Fenwick(played by Will Arnett) and Casey Jones (played by Stephen Amell), a hockey-masked vigilante. As the pizza-loving heroes prepare for battle, the notorious Krang (Voiced by Brad Garrett) also emerges to pose an even greater threat.

This film is just a complete mess. The film feels just too cartoony and it was basically made for fans of the animated show from the 90's and the new animated series that was on a few years ago. It appeals to kids and when you really look at the turtles, they were never made for kids and they are 10 times more violent in the comics. The story is pretty plain and simple enough for people to follow along, but with the plot being simple you need good strong characters and you just don't get that in the film. Megan Fox looks uninterested to be in the film, Tyler Perry is just too over-the-top insane and he's unbearable, Stephen Amell is great as Casey Jones, but they gave the character nothing to do and he just came off as weak. It also tires to cram way too much stuff in for one film. The filmmakers should've chosen either the duo of Bebop and Rocksteady or use Krang and not both of them along with Shredder. The film has a lot of moving parts and none of them are cohesive and it just makes the film a jumbled mess. Overall this is a film that tries to do too much and only appeals to those who watched an animated series. I give Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows a 2.5 out of 10.
