So I recently watched The Conjuring 2 and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...
In 1977, paranormal investigators Ed (played by Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (played by Vera Farmiga) come out of a self-imposed sabbatical to travel to Enfield, a borough in north London. There, they meet Peggy Hodgson (played by Frances O'Connor), an overwhelmed single mother of four who tells the couple that something evil is in her home. Ed and Lorraine believe her story when the youngest daughter starts to show signs of demonic possession. As the Warrens try to help the besieged girl, they become the next target of the malicious spirits.
This was a really great film.Horror films (especially horror sequels) are hard to make becuase you can't just rely on scares throughout the entire film and if there isn't at least a decent story, then none of the scares matter because they don't have an effect. In this film (unlike the first film( relies heavily on the normal cliches you see in just about every film and they get overused too much. The film however is pretty scary and there are quite a few unexpected moments compared to the expected moments. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are outstanding in the film and they give such believable performances and their chemistry is fantastic. James Wan came back to direct this and he proves again why is the best horror director working right now and there is no question about it. He's able to bring you in into the film and make you feel that you are with the Warrens in their investigation. Following up to such a great film in The Conjuring is such tall task to follow, but this film does a decent job as a follow-up in the series. Overall the film isn't all that scary, but the few scares are brilliant and it helps when you have a solid story, with solid actors and a solid director. I give The Conjuring 2 an 8 out of 10.
So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of The Conjuring 2, what would you rate it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
