My Review of RoboCop (2014)

So I recently watched RoboCop (2014) and i'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado.....

The year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years (and it’s meant billions for OmniCorp’s bottom line). Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (played by Joel Kinnaman) (a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit) is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance to build a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.

This film was surprisingly good. The acting is really well done especially the performances of Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman and Samuel L. Jackson. The action just comes at you nonstop and at a frantic, intense and exhilarating pace. The storyline for the movie really does fit in with is going on in today's society. The main problem with the film is that the violence isn't there like in the original film (and I understand that this is a remake) and that it took way to long for RoboCop to actually appear. But I expect the film to do well at the box office (eventhough it would have fared better during the summer) and you can expect a sequel. Overall I give RoboCop (2014) a 8 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of RoboCop (2014), what would you score it and what did you think of my review? Let me know in the comments section below and let your voice be heard.
