My Review of Dallas Buyers Club

So I recently watched Dallas Buyers Club and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado.......

The film tells the story of Ron Woodroof (played by Matthew McConaughey), a Texas electrician who was diagnosed as HIV-positive in 1986, and who subsequently devoted his life to providing fellow HIV patients with non-FDA-approved drugs and supplements during an era when doctors were struggling to understand the devastating disease. Defying his surprise death sentence, Woodroof set out to procure any all non-toxic alternative HIV treatments available, and established a "buyers club" to provide the treatments to others afflicted with the disease. But that mission quickly made him a target for both the U.S. medical establishment and the pharmaceutical industry, both of which resented his defiance of government sanctions, and joined forces to shut down his operation by any means necessary. Along the way Woodroof meets an HIV-positive transgender woman named Rayon (played by Jared Leto) and a Nurse(played by Jennifer Garner ) who help him with his cause.

This film is amazing and its a very early contender for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. McConaughey continues his hot streak of performances and is well on his way to receiving an Academy Award record of three nominations in one year (Best Actor nominations for Mud and Dallas Buyers Club) (Best Supporting Actor  for The Wolf of Wall Street). Jared Leto also gives an outstanding performance and I wouldn't be surprised for him not only to get a Supporting Actor nomination but he might very well he win the award. The film is terrific, the storytelling is magnificent and the actors give outstanding and caring performances. With that being said I give the film a 10 out of 10.

So ladies and gentlemen what did you think of Dallas Buyers Club and what would you rate it? Let me know in the comments and let your voice be heard.
