Best Director of Each Decade 1920-2009

          Throughout history their have been great directors that have brought us as moviegoers some all-time classic movies and while there are great directors they sometimes bring us movies that make us wonder why they are even involved in films. Well I'm going to bring you my list for the best directors from the 1920's all the way to 2009 (the current decade is not over so I cannot rate those directors).


1920's

Fred Niblo- The Mask of Zorro (1920), The Three Musketeers (1922), Blood and Sand (1922), Ben-Hur: A Tale of The Christ (1925), The Mysterious Lady (1928), and 20 other films

1930's

James Whale- Frankenstein (1931), The Invisible Man (1933), Bride of Frankenstein (1935), Show Boat (1936), The Man in The Iron Mask (1939) and 14 other films.

Michael Curtiz- Casablanca (1942), Yankee Doodle Dandee (1942), Mildred Pierce (1945), and 6 other films.

Alfred Hitchcock- Dial M for Murder (1954), The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956), Vertigo (1958) and 8 other films

1960's

Stanley Kubrick- Spartacus (1960), Lolita (1962), Dr. Strangelove (1964), and 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968).
