So I recently watched Max and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado...............
A military dog from Afghanistan is adopted by his late handler's grieving family in the U.S., where his close bond with the soldier's brother leads to a life-altering revelation.
This was pretty decent film. A lot of you know that I am a dog lover and the way that animal films have gone in the past I thought I may end up breaking down in tears and I didn't. At its core there is a great insight on how military dogs have PTSD and how it effects their lives. The story that surrounds that message is pretty boring and disappointing. The performances are a little over the top and just took me out of the movie. There are some really good emotional scenes, but sometimes it does get a little too emotional. Going back on the story, it goes from being about this dog dealing with the death of its owner to switching over to a film about drug dealers and it just didn't make a lot of sense of what the film wanted to be about. Overall this was a film with a great message, but not a great story to help carry that message. I give Max a 5 out of 10.

So I recently watched Ted 2 and I'm here to bring you my review. So without further ado.............
Newlywed couple Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlene) and Tami-Lynn (played by Jessica Barth) want to have a baby, but in order to qualify to be a parent, Ted will have to prove he's a person in a court of law.
This film was absolutely hilarious. As I said in my review of Ted (which you can see here) if you don't like Seth MacFarlene's comedy from his shows Family Guy, American Dad! and The Cleveland Show then you will not like this movie at all. In every single scene there is joke that make laugh really hard and you may even miss some jokes because of laughing so much. I'm still amazed at how good Mark Wahlberg is acting up against virtually nothing and he is able to have a connection with virtually nothing and only select few actors can do that. I enjoyed the replacement of Mila Kunis with Amanda Seyfried and I thought she filled the void nicely. There is a plethora of great cameos and we see some familiar faces from the previous films. One of those was Donny (played by Giovanni Ribsi) and while I liked seeing him come back, his story was bland and just a rehash of his story from the first film and I wanted to either see something new or possibly a small cameo. while there were some good gut-busting jokes, some just didn't hit home and to be honest a few were on the edge of being borderline offensive. The story was pretty predictable and just unoriginal. Overall I really enjoyed the film, but it does have a lot of bad flaws. I give Ted 2 a 7.5 out of 10.

While the first half of 2015 has had a lot of amazing movies, there have been a lot of really bad ones. So with that being said I'm going to bring you my top 10 least favorite films of 2015 so far. So without further ado...
10. Fifty Shades of Grey
Look I'm not going to beat around the bush, this film is absolutely terrible. I understand that the book is very popular and that a lot of the female really enjoyed the book and the movie and that is your right to have that opinion. My personal opinion is that it is a sloppy film in every possible aspect, the film is boring and to be honest I could care less about the future sequels.
9. Serena
When you have a film that stars 3-time Academy Award nominated actor Bradley Cooper and Academy Award winning actress Jennifer Lawrence in a film togehter you fully expect it to be an Oscar contender. Instead you get what is possibly the most boring movie ever and I firmly believe that. The story is convoluted, it doesn't make no sense and both of the lead actors mail in their performances. When that happens especially when they are that talented then you film is automatically horrible.
8. The Boy Next Door
For this to be a thriller movie, I've never laughed so hard before in my entire life. The film tries to take itself to seriously and every piece of dialogue is just ridiculous. The story is terrible and cliched to the max and predictable from the opening frame. The films runtime is 90 minutes and to be honest it feels like a 3 hour epic film.
7. The Loft
for the longest time I heard nothing but Oscar praise for the film because of the cast and the plot of the was so interesting, but it failed miserably. The film makes no sense whatsoever, the cast of the film looks lost in every scene and this film tries so hard to be a great murder mystery and it fails. It is one the list of a few films where I wanted to stop watching the film halfway through and made want to give up working on the blog because it was so terrible.
6. Motrdecai
I used to be a big fan of Johnny Depp and at one time he was a top level actor that could do anything he wanted. After playing Jack Sparrow in the first Pirates of the Carribean film (which I love), he ended up do silly films and silly roles in terrible films and playing the same type of character in every film. This is another perfect example of his career going downhill. The film tries to be funny and it just isn't and every a-list star in the film is wasted.
5. Taken 3
This franchise has gotten worse and worse and I'm glad it is ending. Liam Neeson is a great actor and to be honest he fits well into action films. But this film is like every other action film that he is in and when you have a film titles Taken and nobody gets Taken then the film is automatically going to be terrible. I really enjoy Liam Neeson as an actor, but I wish he would do something different other than action films.
4. Unfinished Business
I've never been so mad at a film before in my entire life. You have a film with Vince Vaughn (who's comedy is hit and miss), Dave Franco (a great young comedic actor) and Tom Wilkinson (an Academy Award nominated actor) in the same film you expect it to be at least decent. In the end it is not funny in any way, the performances are terrible and it's one of the most cliched films of the year.
3. The Longest Ride
I used to enjoy Nicholas Sparks films (simply because he has my last name) and they used to be really good romance films. Now every single one of his books turned into films are the exact same film throughout and are predictable before the film even comes out. He hasn't had a good film since The Notebook and I honestly don't another Nicholas Sparks adaptation will be that good ever again.
2. Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2
I don't think I've ever seen a more unnecessary sequel than this film. The film isn't that great, but because it made money the studio thought it would be a wonderful idea to make a sequel. In reality you made the exact same film in a different location. Kevin is not funny and trying to make him the lead in a comedy film is just a terrible idea. I'm thankful that film didn't make a lot of money because I don't want to have to sit through another Paul Blart film.
1. Hot Pursuit
Another comedy in which I did not laugh one single time. The film is cliched and predictable. Reese Witherspoon is an Academy Award winning actress and if this was her first ever film I would give her the advice to stop acting because she was dreadful. I said this in my review, but Sofia Vergara is Colombian and that is her true accent, I was annoyed every time she opened her mouth. I don';t mind it when she 's in a film where she doesn't have a lot of screen time, but when she is on-screen the majority of the time like she is in this film she is the most annoying woman in the entire world.

One of the more surprising casting announcements for the upcoming Captain America: Civil War was the reveal that The Incredible Hulk‘s William Hurt will be returning as General Ross. Speaking with IGN, the actor opened up about his part in the film, saying that the character will be ‘different.’ “I loved playing Ross the first time because I was able to try and create an ego as big as the monster he was chasing. And one that was as warped too,” Hurt tells the outlet. “[Ross in Civil War] is different because it’s a different style. It’s a more modernized style. And what they’ve done is they’ve taken a character who was the Ross from the older film and made a new version. This is a much newer Ross. A much different Ross. And I liked that a lot. I haven’t had a lot of time to understand it, but I’m doing the best I can. And they haven’t fired me yet.” Set for release in the United States on May 6, 2016, Captain America: Civil War is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely. It is set to feature the return of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, this time joined in his “solo” film by fellow Avengers Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes/War Machine and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. Sebastian Stan will also be back as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier alongside Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter/Agent 13, Daniel Brühl as Baron Helmut Zemo, Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones, William Hurt as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Martin Freeman in a mystery role. The film is also supposed to debut Marvel’s new Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland. Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.
I really love these comments. William Hurt is one of the greatest actors of our generation and to see him come back for this film after not seeing him since 2008's The Incredible Hulk is a great thing to see. I really like how he is talking about his character and it sort of hints towards him eventually turning into Red Hulk which happened in the comics. Red Hulk could potentially be a villain in Infinity War Part 1 and then turn into a possible ally in Part 2. I'm just glad to see him back in the MCU and I can't to see him in this film.
Despite being locked away by Dwayne Johnson in a maximum security cell somewhere near the Earth’s crust at the end of Furious 7, it looks like no cage can truly contain the fury of Jason Statham’s bad guy Deckard Shaw as the action star tells Access Hollywood that he’ll return for another bout with Vin Diesel’s crew in Furious 8. “We’re already talking about doing another one, Part 8,” Statham declares. “I’m a newcomer! I just got invited to the party in this last one so it’s nice to know I’m gonna be doing another… They’ve always got something good up their sleeve, and I don’t want to be the one who spoils the plot lines but there is some great stuff I already know about.” After taking in over $1.5 billion worldwide, Furious 7 is just a few million shy of besting The Avengers to become the third-highest-grossing movie of all-time, a level of success Statham chalks up to the series’ steadfast following. “The fanbase is really unique,” says the actor. “They really do relate to these characters, they love these characters, they’ve followed them for years and years.” Star Vin Diesel announced Furious 8 at this year’s CinemaCon after the unprecedented success of the seventh film, and he along with Statham, Johnson and Kurt Russell are expected to return, along with franchise regulars Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black reprising their roles as street racers-turned-international criminals-turned-super-secret agents. Universal Pictures will deliver Furious 8 for an April 14, 2017 release.
This isn't at all surprising news to hear. If you've seen Furious 7 then you know that Deckard Shaw survives the film leading to a possible return in the next film. I really like that because this is the type of franchise that Jason Statham belongs in and if some rumors hold true then Helen Mirren could play his mother in the next film. If that happens then this becomes a very credible franchise both acting wise and financially.
According to Sci-fi Pulse, the blockbuster sequel Star Trek 3 (possibly titled “Star Trek Beyond”) has boldy begun principal photography today at the Squamish Boulders site in British Columbia, roughly an hour outside of Vancouver. Production will continue at the Great Wall Boulders on June 26, 29 and 30. Why would a Star Trek movie film near such large rock formations? As Captain Kirk would say, “Because it’s there.” The film is set to feature the return of Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Anton Yelchin, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg and Zoe Saldana as the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, along with Idris Elba as the film’s villain and Sofia Boutella in a mystery role. J.J. Abrams, who directed the last two films, is producing the third film in the rebooted franchise. Justin Lin, four-time The Fast and the Furious director, is set to direct from a script by Pegg and Doug Jung. Paramount Pictures has Star Trek 3 scheduled for a July 8, 2016 release, which happens to be exactly two months to the day before the franchise’s 50th Anniversary. Although it wasn’t the first episode produced, “The Man Trap,” in which the crew of the Enterprise encounters a deadly shapeshifting salt vampire, introduced the world to “Star Trek” on September 8, 1966.
This is great news to hear. Usually when we hear a film in in production that doesn't necessarily mean that the film will get made because a lot of things can go wrong and production will get halted. So to finally see that this film is actually happening brings a smile to my face. Paramount has working hard to get this film off the ground and it seems they have. Everything I've heard about the film gets me excited. I love the title (Star Trek Beyond), the director (Justin Lin) and the writer (Simon Pegg) and I can't wait to see the film.
Warner Bros. Pictures is returning to J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding world with next year’s fantasy adventure Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the first part of what is being eyed as a three-film expansion of Harry Potter lore. Already set to star Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston, the David Yates-directed film is today, according to a story at Variety, looking to cast Ezra Miller in a key role. Miller, who previously starred in director Stephen Chbosky’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower, is also set to play the title role in Warner Bros. Pictures’ DC Comics adaptation The Flash. Redmayne is playing the lead role of Newt Scamander, the Wizarding World’s preeminent magizoologist, who in his travels has encountered and documented a myriad of magical creatures, ultimately leading to his penning the Hogwarts School textbook “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” Miller is said to be up for a character named Kredan, described by Variety as being, “a person with magical powers who encounters [Scamander] when he stops in New York City on his travels to find and document magical creatures.” The film is being produced by David Heyman, producer of all eight of the blockbuster Harry Potter features; J.K. Rowling; Steve Kloves, who scripted all but one of the Harry Potter films; and Lionel Wigram, who served as an executive producer on the last four installments of the franchise. J.K. Rowling wrote the screenplay. Warner Bros. Pictures has the first Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them set for a worldwide release in 3D and IMAX on November 18, 2016.
This is great casting. Ezra Miller is the best actor that nobody has heard of. To me he was the big standout from the film The Perks of Being a Wallflower and he has such a bright future ahead of him. He is going to be The Flash in the new DCCU and it kind of makes sense for WB to go with him. He's already with the company as The Flash so they want him to be apart of another franchise under their company name. This film is looking like it will be amazing and this cast doesn't hurt at all.
Universal Pictures (via Yahoo!) has debuted the new U.S. trailer for Legend, the upcoming true story of the Kray twins, a pair of gangsters who controlled much of London’s organized crime in the 1960s, featuring Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises, Mad Max: Fury Road) in the dual roles of Ronald and Reginald Kray and you can check it out below. From Academy Award winner Brian Helgeland (L.A. Confidential, Mystic River) comes the true story of the rise and fall of London’s most notorious gangsters, Reggie and Ron Kray, both portrayed by Tom Hardy in an amazing double performance. Legend is a classic crime thriller taking us into the secret history of the 1960s and the extraordinary events that secured the infamy of the Kray twins. Legend also stars Emily Browning, Christopher Eccleston, Taron Egerton, Tara Fitzgerald, Chazz Palminteri and David Thewlis. Cross Creek Pictures’ Brian Oliver and Tyler Thompson produce with Working Title Films’ Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner alongside Christopher Clark and Quentin Curtis. Legend opens in the UK on September 11 and in limited release stateside on October 2.
This was an awesome trailer. Tom Hardy is easily one of the top 5 actors working in the business and this film looks to be his best yet. Seeing him in this trailer just reaffirmed my want for him to be the next James Bond. While he is playing twins, he is playing two completely different people and that is a really hard feat to pull of and only a few can do it. The film looks like a lot of fun and I can't wait to see it.

With Ted 2 being released this weekend, I thought it would be fitting to review its predecessor Ted. So without further ado...
In the live action/CG-animated comedy, the film tells the story of John Bennett (played by Mark Wahlberg), a grown man who must deal with the cherished teddy bear named Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlene) who came to life as the result of a childhood wish...and has refused to leave his side ever since.
This is one of the funniest films I have ever seen in my entire life. Seth MacFarlene is a comedic genius and to be honest if you don't like his comedy then you probably won't like this film whatsoever. The jokes are very raunchy and sometimes inappropriate, but they are gut-busters that will keep you laughing the entire time. I really like the performances in the film and the relationships that the characters on screen is tremendous and the way Mark Wahlberg acts against virtually nothing is pretty great. To be honest this is the closest we will ever get to seeing a Family Guy film on the big screen for the time being. I will say that the film's plot is nothing new and it's pretty predictable, plus some of the jokes just don't really work. Overall this is a really solid comedy and it is one of the best surprises of 2012. I give Ted an 8 out of 10.

Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have announced that, following a lengthy casting process, actor Tom Holland (The Impossible, In the Heart of the Sea) will play Peter Parker/Spider-Man in their next Spider-Man film, which is set to hit theaters on July 28. 2017. In addition, director Jon Watts, director of the upcoming thriller Cop Car, will helm the feature. Marvel and Sony Pictures, and producers Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal conducted an extensive search for both the actor and the director. The studios and producers were impressed by Holland’s performances in The Impossible, “Wolf Hall,” and the upcoming In the Heart of the Sea, and by a series of complex screen tests. Following Marvel’s tradition of working with the brightest next wave of directors, Watts also went through multiple meetings with Feige, Pascal, and the studio, before winning the job. “It’s a big day here at Sony. Kevin, Amy and their teams have done an incredible job,” Tom Rothman, Sony Pictures Motion Pictures Group Chairman, said. “The Marvel process is very thorough, and that’s why their results are so outstanding. I’m confident Spider-Man will be no exception. I’ve worked with a number of up-and-coming directors who have gone on to be superstars and believe that Jon is just such an outstanding talent. For Spidey himself, we saw many terrific young actors, but Tom’s screen tests were special. All in all, we are off to a roaring start.” “As with James Gunn, Joss Whedon, and the Russo brothers, we love finding new and exciting voices to bring these characters to life,” Kevin Feige added “We spent a lot of time with Jon and find his take and work inspiring.” Amy Pascal added, “Sony, Marvel, Kevin and I all knew that for Peter Parker, we had to find a vibrant, talented young actor capable of embodying one of the most well-known characters in the world. With Tom, we’ve found the perfect actor to bring Spider-Man’s story into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.” Sony Pictures will finance and release worldwide the next installment of the $4 billion Spider-Man franchise, in a film co-produced by Kevin Feige and his expert team at Marvel and Amy Pascal, who oversaw the franchise launch for the studio 13 years ago. Together, they will collaborate on a new creative direction for the Web-Slinger.
To be completely honest I am a little let down by the casting. I only say that because this was a big opportunity to get a well-known actor to step into the role of Spider-Man. Instead they go with a no name guy who hasn't really proven himself. I mean with both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield they and at least proved they could act. I haven't seen anything from this kid to know what he can do. I honestly would've went with Josh Hutcherson or Logan Lerman simply because they are proven actors who have the ability to go toe-to-toe with the best actors in Hollywood. I feel Marvel dropped the ball on this, but hopefully the kid can prove me wrong.
Two-time Oscar-winning composer James Horner has died in a plane crash at the age of 61, according to multiple reports. Horner, who was an experienced pilot, was flying one of his small aircrafts when it crashed north of Santa Barbara. Horner was best known for composing the score for James Cameron’s Titanic, for which he won his two Oscars, one for the score and one for co-writing the original song “My Heart Will Go On” for Celine Dion. He also composed the score for Cameron’s Avatar and was pegged to do the same for the sequels. Other Oscar-nominated scores by Horner included A Beautiful Mind, Braveheart, Apollo 13 and Field of Dreams, all of which were also nominated for Best Picture (the first two won the top Oscar), as well as Cameron’s earlier film Aliens and the song “Somewhere Out There” for An American Tail. Horner’s career dates all the way back to 1978’s The Watcher and he had nearly 158 films for which he was credited as a composer and even more when you include the soundtracks that have included the songs that Horner composed. His last films will be Antoine Fuqua’s boxing drama Southpaw, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, and the Chilean miner film The 33.
This is really sad news to hear. James Horner is one the greatest composers of all-time and he will be greatly missed. His film scores were captivating and they kept you on the edge of your seat. I honestly can't think of a single bad score that he did in his long career. Of the course my favorite of his is the score for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan because that just changed the game for the franchise and it is honestly just so beautiful. I'm looking forward to hearing what he did for Southpaw and I can't see it being anything, but great. R.I.P. James Horner and my condolences go out to his family.

After Independence Day redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction. Independence Day Resurgence features a script by Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin and James Vanderbilt, James A.Woods and Nicolas Wright.
This is such a stupid title. Now granted it's better than the rumored title known as Independence Day: Forever, but this one is just ridiculous. Now the definition of resurgence states "revival after a period of little activity" so it does fit, but it just doesn't sound well to me. I mean just because the title makes sense doesn't mean that it is necessary. I honestly would've just went with Independence Day 2 but what do I know. This film has been through a lot of ups and downs so I'm interested to see how things turn out for the film.
Twentieth Century Fox has revealed a new Hitman: Agent 47 trailer, featuring brand-new footage from the video game adaptation and you can check it out below. Directed by first time helmer Aleksander Bach, the film stars Rupert Friend (“Homeland,” The Young Victoria), Zachary Quinto (Star Trek, Margin Call), Hannah Ware (“Betrayal,” “Boss”), Thomas Kretschmann (“Dracula,” Avengers: Age of Ultron), Dan Bakkedahl (The Heat, Observe and Report) and Ciaran Hinds (Frozen, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby). Hitman: Agent 47 centers on an elite assassin who was genetically engineered from conception to be the perfect killing machine, and is known only by the last two digits on the barcode tattooed on the back of his neck. He is the culmination of decades of research – and forty-six earlier Agent clones — endowing him with unprecedented strength, speed, stamina and intelligence. His latest target is a mega-corporation that plans to unlock the secret of Agent 47’s past to create an army of killers whose powers surpass even his own. Teaming up with a young woman who may hold the secret to overcoming their powerful and clandestine enemies, 47 confronts stunning revelations about his own origins and squares off in an epic battle with his deadliest foe. The Square Enix title (previously from Eidos Interactive) was turned into the 2007 movie Hitman with Timothy Olyphant in the lead. The Xavier Gens-directed action thriller earned just under $100 million at worldwide theaters. Scripted by Skip Woods, Kyle Ward and Michael Finch, Hitman: Agent 47 hits theaters on August 21.
This was actually a really fun trailer. It was 10 times better than the first one, it showed a lot more action and it gave us a better understanding on what the film is about. It kind of makes me a little sad seeing Rupert Friend in the Hitman role because it was originally supposed to be Paul walker before he tragically passed away and he would've been awesome in the role, but I think Rupert Friend will do just fine. I haven't played many of the Hitman games other than the most recent one, but the material is strong enough for a film and it is in a prime release date to succeed.
Looks like it’s a game of musical chairs for rising Danish star Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina) as she heads from one expert assassin to another. After word in May that the actress was in contention for lead roles in both 20th Century Fox and New Regency’s Assassin’s Creed and Universal’s Bourne 5, Deadline confirms that Vikander will star opposite Matt Damon in the fifth installment of the Jason Bourne saga. She will not, however, be joining Michael Fassbender in Fox’s video game adaptation. Bourne 5 will feature the return of Academy Award-winning actor Matt Damon to the title role with The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum helmer Paul Greengrass back in the director’s chair. Julia Stiles is also set to reprise her role as CIA Agent Nicky Parsons. Little is known about the plot of the new film, although it has been confirmed that it will not feature a crossover between Damon’s Bourne and Jeremy Renner’s Aaron Cross from The Bourne Legacy. Franchise steward Marshall will again produce the new film alongside Jeffrey Weiner for Captivate Entertainment. Greengrass, Damon and Greg Goodman also produce. Production should begin shortly on Bourne 5 as the film is slated to hit the big screen July 29, 2016. Vikander has a multitude of projects currently awaiting release, including Warner Bros.’ The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Tom Hooper’s The Danish Girl, Justin Chadwick’s Tulip Fever, John Wells’ Adam Jones opposite Bradley Cooper, and Derek Cianfrance’s The Light Between Oceans opposite Fassbender.
This is terrific casting. The only film I've ever seen her in was Ex Machnia and she was just absolutely amazing in the film and I think she will fit in well in the franchise. I will say that it is disappointing that she won't be in the Assassin's Creed film because she would've been amazing, but I understand why she didn't take the role. I'm really looking forward to seeing her in The Danish Girl because I've heard nothing, but good things about her performance in the film and it will give me a good idea to found out her acting range. She's a tremendous actress and I can't wait to see her in future films.
